I'm in my every few years - try to get organized mode. My entire family laughs at me when I do this. But, hey I want more time for me :rotfl2: So anything I can do to enhance my time management is great.

Ok getting to my question - food shopping. Do you shop once per week - at one store, shop every day, go to various stores, a big shopping every other week with smaller shopping in between?

I shop every Sunday while my kids are at Sunday school. I consider it a weekly shopping, I try to make a list, look at the sales circular, and do meal planning. Yet I am always back to the store at least two more times during the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Reasons why - Forgot to buy something (It's more like someone needs something and doesn't tell me before they run out :confused3 ) or we've run out of something, like milk.

Also, do you buy everything at one store including CVS type stuff?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I go grocery shopping once a week at Kroger, usually on Sundays. Sometimes I'll have to stop a few times during the week, though, to pick up things I forgot (and to buy wine or beer, which I can't buy on Sundays here in Georgia, but don't get me started on that! :p )

For toiletries or cleaning supplies or whatever else, I always go to Target whenever I need them (or even sometimes when I don't! ;) )

I pretty much shop like you do. I feel like it is the most efficient way. But it might take me all weekend, depending on what I'm cooking.

I might go to one store on a Saturday afternoon and pick up a few items. Then on Sunday morning, I'll do my BIG shopping. I will buy "CVS-type stuff" at the grocery store if it's on sale. If not, I usually make another trip to Target.

We shop about every six weeks at BJs for the big things (like laundry soap, TP, cat litter etc), get all our health & beauty care stuff at WalMart (as needed) and I go grocery shopping (to Market Basket only) once a week, early Saturday morning, for groceries. I tried checking various stores' sales flyers but found that going to multiple stores weekly to save a few cents just wasn't worth it. It's easier to just go and get it done. Also, I make a specific list and stick to it, making sure that all the items I need to make all my dishes for the week are included. :moped:

I go to wally world on friday evenings after work for everything. I have the kids pick three entrees, three yellow veggies, three green veggies, and three fruits and try to address their likes then

I love shopping. So I seem to find reason to go all the time. I buy health and beauty usually at Walmart probably one trip per week for something there. Unless I find a great sale/coupon elsewhere. I usually do a big store order every two weeks. I routinely hit Target just because. I additionally hit up to three other grocery stores for 1 to ? amount of items per day. I usually run out on my lunch hour if I need something for dinner. Like today I needed shredded cheese, sour cream, milk, and fresh tomatoes for tacos for dinner. By the way my taco salad I had was delish. :woohoo:

WOW - I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner.

A new Price Chopper just opened not far from here, so my shopping has changed.

We have a "discount dump" (thats what we call it) where I buy can goods, its all non-perishable items. Snacks for the DD's lunches, cereal etc.

the rest of the food stuff now comes from Price Chopper. I use to go to a butcher and buy meat, but price chopper has just as good (some is better) meat selection and they will cut it anyway you want.

non-edible stuff, like cleaners etc. comes from walmart 99% of the time unless some place has a good sale and i'm already there.

I shop every other wednesday when the girls are at their fathers, except for milk, 1/2 & 1/2 etc. that I pick up as its getting low..
