Hi! I'm a Florida foodie headed to DL in March! Right now I have blue bayou, carthay circle and Napa rose chefs table booked for dinners. Nothing booked for lunch. Give me fave, must try food or restaurants in either park.
Thank you!!

If you're looking for TS locations, I like Cafe Orleans, Big Thunder BBQ, Carnation Cafe, Storytellers and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. I also like the Carthay Circle Lounge for a lighter meal (no ADRs). For CS, I like French Market, Plaza Inn, and Earl of Sandwich (though that is at WDW).

Check out the Disneyland Dining, Reviews, and Photo thread!

I personally preferred Carthay Circle at lunch over dinner. For me, I would say Plaza Inn Fried Chicken or Red Wagon Corn Dog - even Jonathan Gold (LA Times Food critic) swears by them. I also liked the Alfresco Tasting Terrace (perched above the Wine Country Trattoria) - they have a tasty bar menu. I've never been, but people also like the Cove Bar, especially for their lobster nachos.

I also throw in my vote for the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, the corn dog wagon (YUMMY), and we also love the Bengal BBQ.

Have a magical time!

Of those three Blue Bayou obviously has the best ambiance. We really enjoyed out dinner at Carthay Circle. Everything we tried was delicious and the wine selection was surprisingly good as well. We loved out spot on the balcony for people watching.

The character breakfasts at the Plaza Inn and Storyteller's were both good. I would say Storyteller's is on par with the breakfast buffet at Cape May at the Beach Club in WDW. And the Plaza Inn Minnie and Friends breakfast was better than the buffet at Crystal Palace. Just a couple of points of reference for you. Enjoy your trip!

Good point about Storytellers. It's a character buffet at breakfast, but a TS location for lunch and dinner. I've gone for lunch and really enjoyed that meal, but I can't really think of any restaurant at WDW that I'd say it's directly comparable to. The other locations I mentioned (Cafe Orleans, Big Thunder BBQ, Carnation Cafe, and Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen) are table service locations at all meals (no buffets). Cafe Orleans has an all day menu. Carnation serves breakfast and then switches to an all day menu. Big Thunder BBQ has mostly similar items at lunch and dinner, but adds a few things at dinner. Brennan's has three different menus (lunch, dinner, and Sun brunch).

For us, it's Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. Good price for really good food in a nice outdoor setting. Outside of that, nothing else really stands out as great for us.

Compared to WDW, DL just doesn't have the great variety of Table Service like Liberty Tree, Tony's, Crystal Palace, BOG, Y&Y, everything in World Showcase, 1900 Park Faire, and others. DL does have a lot of places that remind me of the restaurants at DHS - upscale burgers and fried chicken in a building with some ambiance (SciFi or 50s). But DL is a much more relaxed place where dining isn't central to the vacation like it is at WDW. I'm actually (finally) getting used to the laid back approach and hoping that nothing like DDP or FP+ never makes it out here. Still, I do miss all the marvelous food of WDW.

Steakhouse 55 in the DLH. Great dinners!! Breakfast is supposed to be good, too, but I've never done that....

For counter service, my favorite is the Chinese Chicken Salad in the breadbowl at the Pacific Wharf in California Adventure. It is absolutely fabulous! We love Cafe Orleans for the Monte Cristos and pomme frites. Don't miss the beignets, dole whip and matterhorn cookies (at the Jolly Holiday bakery).

I like the ahi poke at Trader Sam's, especially when washing it down with a Shrunken Zombie Head.

If you're not into the drink, you can also get the poke in the Tangaroa Terrace.
