Hi all
I'm heading to disneyland in September for the half marathon weekend. My first half marathon !
My question for all you very knowledgable people on the dis boards is

I have had weight loss surgery and can't eat a huge volume of food. But would love to try some of the amazing looking food I keep seeing on the food thread. Also want to do the fantastimic dinning package to get a great seat. Do they / can you ask to have any leftover food packed up so I could eat it later?

Thanks

I would bet for sure at nicer table service restaurants (and events like fantasmic) they'd pack it up for you, but I can't say I recall seeing anything resembling a traditional 'to go' container from most places. It's kind of expected you'll eat it somewhere within the park. People don't usually grab dinner from DL to take home lol.

Worst case for places that are counter service, you could ask for an empty paper cup and lid and stuff your leftovers in there. But personally I'd just bring a lunch bag and some tupperware. If you're marathon runner anyway you'll likely want to grab a locker, so you could stash your morsels away for later in there.

Congrats on your first marathon!

Thanks for the info
I'm not worried about the quick service places. Just the more expensive table service restaurants where it's a pre fixed meal . I just didn't want to ask if it wasn't possible.
I will just pack my collapsible lunch box thing and stash it in a locker.
Still really nervous about finishing the race.

Yes, you can get "to go" boxes. I have done it at Blue Bayou and River Belle Terrace with the F! Packages. We couldn't eat all our desserts so we took them back to the hotel for later. I have also read about people getting take out meals from Plaza Inn. The only places I don't see it being an option is at the buffets or at all you can eat. Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem. Another option would be getting kids meals. I don't know if you can do this at table service, but you definitely can get a kids meal from any of the counter service places with no questions asked. Have a great time and good luck with the race!

Yes, as the PPs have said, the TS locations do have "to go" boxes to pack up your left overs. They mostly use lined cardboard boxes for the entrees. For soupy items, they'll give you a coffee-style cup with a lid, which means it's not completely sealed. The Plaza Inn does do take out - I just did that! - with thin-walled plastic style containers (they will leak the liquids if they end up on their side). Jolly Holiday also does take out pretty easily (same type of containers as Plaza Inn).
