Food Quality at PSB vs CRT

Hi, Fellow DISers!

I've been reading mixed reviews on both breakfasts. While I know that the food isn't the focus, since it's princess: princess: princess: princess: , but my DH is most interested in if his breakfast will be good!

If you've been to both, could you please compare the food quality? Which has fresher, tastier food?

On a funny note: Yesterday my DS12 asked me, "Mom, when we get to the MK, the first thing we're going to do is eat breakfast in the castle, right? I am so excited about that! We'll see Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, Chip!"

I said, "Well, actually, Cinderella is at that breakfast."

He was horrified, to say the least.

Thanks!
Sheila

We've been to CRT 3 times and PSB once. As far as quality of food- I'd have to give a SLIGHT nod to PSB- just b/c they have a little more variety. However, based on our one experience, we much prefer CRT. Now, PSB seems to be inconsistent b/c it gets very good reviews and very bad reviews. We had a very extremely rushed experience with the princesses- some were actually running between tables and cut the conversation short. So, I'd say forget the food and go for the one that has the characters you are most interested in. We much prefer CRT, not only for the princesses but the whole castle experience, but that is just us....

We did both CRT and PSB in December. Neither one lived up to the hype, but for food alone, I'd go with CRT. Both are fairly limited since they are family style. I'll stick to breakfast buffets from now on. If your son wants to see Mickey and the gang, I'd have breakfast at Chef Mickey's instead. You'll get better food and better character interaction.

My wife and I haven't eaten at CRT but we did go for the breakfast at PSB. We were a bit disappointed in the food there. I think much of that was due to the style of serving. We definitely prefer Crystal Palace's character breakfast of those we've tried.

I agree with this poster 100%. The food was similar but I give it to PSB because they had cinnamon rolls vs. the disgusting, nasty deep-fried-in-ancient-oil french toast. Neither were gourmet by anyone's definition though it was mostly tasty. Atmosphere though? CRT without a doubt. For me, it didnt help that at PSB we had terrible service (so much so that we canceled dinner PSs), very rushed princesses and seats next to the kitchen (the waiters refused to stop while I took pics). CRT was the opposite. We had lovely seats, a wonderful waiter who boxed up food for our 1-year-old (who slept through most of it and was, of course, free so we really appreciated the effort). We had a late seating and the princesses were quite relaxed and friendly.

this time we are trying the new princess lunch at Akershus. I guess we'll see how it goes!

Great! Thanks so much for the input... CRT is for my DD, but I think DS will muster through!

we went to CRT in November with very low expectations. We were served a basket of fresh pastries, a bowl of fresh fruit and preplated breakfast with potatoes, bacon, sausage and eggs. It was VERY good food and everyone enjoyed themselves. I did notice that our food was different than what they usually serve (the french toast everyone talks about was NOT served when we were there.)

We have yet to do PSB. Have a great time!
