I just got a Kitchen Aid and I love it :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: How did I go so many years with out one...:confused3 So tell me what you use your's for.

I make salsa, hummus, bread/calzone dough and pesto.

It also becomes a big chopper if we need a lot of something chopped.

I have one. Although I don't cook/bake much anymore. But i'm starting to get back into it now that both my dad and I are on normal working hours again. There was no point in cooking when we never ate at the same time.

Last thing I made in mine was a crust for home made cheesecake.

We have one and don't really use it.. I don't know why! :confused3

I have a tiny Cuisinart and use it for the sole purpose of grinding Oreos to make Oreo Balls. Yum!

It's been on my Christmas list for about, oh, 10 yrs now! Should I hold my breath for this year?:confused3

I actually have 2, both cuisarts a 12 cup an a small one.

I use them for a host of things. Two of my favorites are hummus and an olive tapinade that I make.

I just use a blender - with 12 different options..

Kitty - I am on the hunt for one now. Hoping to have a good deer hunting season this year. Going to process our own sausage, hotdogs, and jerky.

We need a food processor to make the hotdogs. Right now I am looking at the Cuisinart Custom 14 14-Cup Food Processor. But KitchenAid is also high on my list.

Have you tried out your mixer yet?

I make a lot of sausage, haven't attempted hot dogs yet, but when I was reading about it, they suggested a stand mixer as being better than a food processor, because it was less likely to break the fat.

Would a stand mixer get the meat chopped up enough???? I may be wrong, but, sausage looks a lot coarser than hot dogs. Would a grinder or mixer get the meat fine enough for hot dogs :confused3 ????

I found this site this morning http://www.thepauperedchef.com/2008/10/hot-dog-part-2.html . So this is my only knowledge on this process. If you happen to stumble on any other information, let me know:thumbsup2 !!

Sharon I have used both the mixer and the food processor and love them both. Kitchen Aid sells two food processor's.... :woohoo:

I don't have one yet, but I have it on good word that Santa is bringing me one this year and I"m super-excited!! :cool1:

I have a small food processor for little stuff, and then a stand mixer with the grinder and shredder attachments for bigger amounts. I love them both.

I have a cuisenart (it came with a slicing disk and a shredding disk) and LOVE it. I use mine to make pizza dough, pie crust, cheesecake crust, shred cheese, and slice apple for pie. Slicing the apple is great becasue they come out paper thin and all the smae size so the don't shrink down when you bake the pie. I also love using it to shred cheese because it takes all of 2 seconds to shred a pound.

I'll look at what I have, but it is my understanding that you use the small setting on the grinder, then a paddle on the mixer to beat it into an imulsion, which is what a hot dog is.

I am trying to get read to leave for the afternoon, so it will be later this evening.

I have a 12-cup Kitchen Aid. I love it and use it more than I thought I would. I do everything from dough to shredding. I also have a Kitchen-Aid stand mixer that I adore.
