Is the food on castaway cay included in cruise or additional?

What is there on castaway cay to eat or should we plan on going back to the ship for lunch?

They have PLENTY to eat on Castaway..and it's included. The place to eat is Cookies BBQ. Ribs, chicken, corn, lobster burgers (or something like that)..all very good.

The food is included...We ate at cookies BBQ...I thought it was VERY GOOD....We had bbq chicken, hamburgers and lobster patties....!

We ate ate Serinity Bay(adult beach ) and had steak on a roll..awesome. Theyalso had dogs and burgers.

The food is OK, the burgers were good. It is lunch line style, you pick what you want to eat.

Hunger is the best cook. The first time I went through the buffet line with dd, I thought the food was fabulous! The second time, with ds, it was just...good. :earboy2:

Seriously, we enjoyed the food. The ribs were tasty but fatty. Ds, a finicky burger boy, said his cheeseburger was delicious. Since the burgers are assembled with lettuce and tomato and then put out, I had to ask for a "naked" cheeseburger for ds. He has a bionic sense about anything other than cheese and beef touching the bun. If there was pickle, lettuce or tomato on the roll, even for a second and then taken off, he can tell.

FYI: The first time I went through the line, it was about 12:15 and there was no waiting. The second time, it was closer to 1pm and the line was long but moving.

Our sons must be twins separated at birth.

make sure you order a konch kooler while there - and everything will taste wonderful!!

I enjoyed the food on CC. Then again, anytime anyone makes food for me and serves it up, I am pretty happy. I especially like fresh fruit. They had fresh fruit, pealed and cut up, which is a big hit with everyone at our table.

The only thing that I missed out on was the soft serve ice cream. We didn't get it, right after we had lunch. I thought I would wait a bit, and surprise the kids with it about an hour later. No such luck. When I went back, they had broken down everything.

The lesson learned is that if you want soft serve, have it right after lunch or ask someone when they will put it away. Also, if you are a big soda drinker, you may want to load up a couple glasses for the beach.

I really like the ribs on CC....I know they are not on par with a first class Southern BBQ joint, but I still think they are great...the meat just falls right off the bones

The rest of the burgers, dogs etc I find to be fairly pedestrian....

That is funny. My sons has the same sense about chocolate milk. He can tell if it is the syrup (yucky to him) or the already mixed. Go figure! :goodvibes

:cool1: Thats yummy to my tummy! I can't wait. I am probably as picky eater as my 2 year old.....but I want to try one of those Lobster burgers I keep reading about. :cool1:

What time does the buffet begin? We are thinking about doing the glass bottom boat at 12:45! Will we have enough time to eat beforehand ??

Lobster burger - not bad. I liked it but I had nothing to compare it to. If I had a choice of the ribs or the lobster burger, I'd take ribs.

Kids really know their burgers, chocolate milk, chicken tenders, etc. I'm the same way about green peppers on pizza. If they've been anywhere near my slice, I can't eat it. BLAHHH

Everything sounds so good. I will definitely try the ribs. Although I've never even heard of a lobster burger, I guess it might be ok, definitely different. Thanks for all of the great suggestions and tips!!!

Only 18 days to go...May 15th can't get here fast enough!!!

I have to second the idea of loading up on the drinks. after we had eaten and gone back to the water it got pretty warm, not to mention the seasoned food made us a little more thirsty. If nothing else you may want to bring some bottled water with you. what a lovely island! :sunny:
