I've seen Alex Guarnaschelli on that show Chopped a couple other shows. She just does not seem like a pleasant person at all. On Chopped, she can come off as downright nasty and like she thinks she is superior to everyone.

Anyone else get that vibe from her?

I think she just takes judging food very seriously. If you watch her on The Cooking Loft, she gives off a totally different vibe. Very friendly and personable.

I was going to say the exact same thing.

I've seen her on a couple of shows and she's pretty funny. I like her. I don't like the blond woman on Chopped. She always looks like she just ate a lemon

Yeah, that's a perfect description. I've got to say, Chopped is one of my favorite shows. It just amazes me how they can put those ingredients together.

I loved Chopped, especially when Alex is on. Her sourpuss faces are most entertaining!

I agree she comes off as very nasty when she is a judge on Chopped or Iron Chef America, etc. DH and I roll our eyes at her b/c it seems like she sometimes says nasty things for the sake of being nasty.
I've never seen her cooking show but from the way she acts on other shows, I don't necessarily want to.

She's not my favorite.

But then she's almost Cinderella-like when you compare her to Carrie on the Cake Challenges :lmao:

Agreed. I kind of feel like if the chefs don't want mean, they shouldn't compete. But I really like her (and am eating at her restaurant in two weeks) :cool1::cool1:

The episode where they made cakes for her....I did not think I could laugh that hard.

Alex is the Chef at a great restaurant ( Butter) in NYC . They actually went to her restaurant for a challenge on The Next Food Network Star and one of the contestants tried to blame his iffy performance on the cramped kitchen to her (not knowing who she was :lmao:) Her look could have froze H*ll. She said something to him like " Not a good idea to critize my kitchen when you are an invited guest. :rotfl2::rotfl2: She is much warmer on Loft. You want to see another side of the "stars" on Food network watch TNFNS. Giada was a bi***. And she should be understanding she made tons of mistakes in the beginning. People are actually commenting on the website that they don't think having them as judges is a good idea because they are starting to lose fans.

Agreed. I always say she looks like she smells something bad.
