Does anyone know what is around there for good restaurants. I sometimes don't like eating in parks, especially ones where I can smell animals (I know, I know, cuckoo) so I thought if we go, we would eat our big meal for the day on the way out. Any ideas?

There's a Pizza Hut across the street. McDonalds & IHOP are very close too. On the same street, there's an Olive Garden & Red Lobster. If you don't mind changing streets, there's a Shells Restaurant about a mile away. Shells is a Florida chain that has great food at a good price. We prefer it over Red Lobster. To get to Shells you would take Busch Blvd to 30th Street. Shells is on the left side of the street coming from that direction.

I understand not wanting to eat at the park because of the animal smells but the animal section is pretty far and on the other side of the park. There's a BBQ place by Sheikra that is wonderful and very far from the animals! They have a Amber Bach BBQ sauce that is to die for.

The area around BG is pretty dry when it comes to good places to eat but if you head over to Fowler Ave from BG, about 3 main streets over, you will hit plenty of places to eat. My Dfi loves Chipotle on Fowler close to the University of South Florida. It's a made to order burrito and salad place. Delicious. There's also Carraba's, Friday's, Chili's, Sonic's and plenty more. Just get to Fowler Ave and drive up and down, there's bound to be something you'd like!
