Food, its 1500 Dollars enoff

How many people are going? adults or kids?

Are you going to the parks everyday?

Are you staying onsite? or in a house where you can buy groceries.

That is roughly $71 a day. If it is 2 adults that would be $35 each a day. Which I think would be tight. But if you are eating breakfast in your room and only do QS you might be able to do it but I dont think I could eat fast food for 3 weeks.

Again if you have a place were you can cook that is different.

I would average on a low side, without too many T.S, but some at LEAST the following:

$6.00 breakfast
$10.00 lunch
$15.00 dinner
$4.00 snack
Thats $35.00 per person per day with no extra's at all, or for 22 days, or $770.00.

I would add an additional 20.00 per day that you want a T.S. (with tip and everything).

If it is one person, I would say you have more than enough money, two people, you are cutting it close, over 2 people you would be sharing/cutting out snacks. Don't forget you will drink more (water, tea, just any types of fluids) if you are there during the hotter months.

and we will bay AP and staying onsite. Are 2000 dollars then enof?

I would order groceries from gardengrocer.com for breakfast. If you are like my family from Sweden and like just a yogurt and some cereal for lunch then you may only need $50 per day for food, snacks and drinks for the 2 of you. If you want to do sit down eating which a waiter and everything then you may want to budget more depending on the type of places you want to eat at (nice places or just regular places). $1500 is $68 per day which should be plenty

If you are onsite, you can do the dining plan for $45/day- thats about $2000 for 22 days. It would include a snack (could be your breakfast), counter service meal and table service meal.

Or the counter service plan- 2 CS meals, 2 snacks, and a refillable mug..would be about $1400 for 22 days. Then you could use any other money to do a sit down meal every now and then.

$1500 could be enough if that's your budget. The numbers by Tinker above may be close (though I usually estimate a flat $15 per lunch/dinner quick service) and should allow some leeway for you. If you think you'll spend at least $375 on table service meals, look into the Tables in Wonderland card. This card costs $75 to AP holders and saves you 20% on most TS meals (including alcohol if that's your thing).

The best thing to do would be to peruse the menus both here at WDWInfo.com and over al AllEars.net along with the ones at the Disney World website (it's under "Where to Eat" and then on the right hand side there's a way to list out the restaurants). Use whichever is most current and get an idea of what you two will order. Add it up and see what you get. It is a bit of work, but it's really the best way to get a good solid estimate.

My gut would say that $1500 for 22 days may be low, and that even $2000 might be pushing it. A lot depends on how you personally eat and what you are looking for in the trip.

It depends on how many days you are staying. I am an over estimator. But this is what I do if I wasn't on the dinning plan.

PP per day.

BK @ CS = $10.00

Lunch @ CS= $15.00

Dinner @ TB = $30.00 to $40.00 with apps , desert & drinks & tip.

If you have the Annual Pass and staying onsite, call Disney and ask them how much it would cost you to add the regular dining plan for your stay. This way if it is more than $1500.00, you will know in advance and have it paid off before you arrive, not having to worry about if you allocated enough for food.

Enjoy your trip, 22 days at Disney sounds wonderful! When are you going and where are you staying?

$1500 would be tough, i would consider breakfast in the room to cut costs, you could easily spend $75 for dinner with one drink each

of going next year from around 23 august to 13 september. We have the money for the airplane allready (12000DKK) so now we only need for hotel, APs, food and souviners. We only going to be on Disneys property and planing on staying Disneys All star Sports. We can save in total around 30000 DKK (5600 dollars), are that enof for food, souviners, hotel and APs?

Here are the prices for the different dining plans. The dining plan and tickets can be added to your resort reservation. I would take one of the dining plans then you would not have to worry about the cost of the food. I have been on vacation with a limited amount of money, and it is not fun when you have to decide what you have to spend it on and watch your money the whole vacation.

Quick service $34.99 per adult per night
Dining Plus $45.99
Deluxe $78.99

Have you booked your resort yet? If you go to the Disney site under Tickets - Special Offers they have a special 25% off Value Resorts from Aug 14-Oct 1/2011 book by March 27/2011 for room only. You can add the dining plan to the room only reservation. You only need to put a $200 deposit down and pay the balance 45 days in advance of your arrival. The deposit is fully refundable up to the 45 days.

Disney's two Specials finish on March 27, they may bring out another special after that day and the resorts might get full. If you took the present 25% special and another special comes out, you would loose the 25% discount (can only have 1 discount at a time) and the new special can be applied but at the non discounted price (rack rate) of the room. You have to contact Disney to apply for the new special and if they are available at the resort you want, they will switch to the new special.

Remember to take out trip cancellation, baggage, medical insurance for your trip. Medical care in the States is VERY expensive, IF you need.

To give you an idea of costs, adult T-shirts are about $20+, sweattops- hoodies $50+. Maybe another people can give you an idea of other costs.

On a 22 night stay in Disney, I'm sure you could get by with a $2000 food budget. It may be pushing your souvenirs budget a little low though. (Would be roughly $500 left, which for a foreign visitor's probable once in a lifetime thing, may be a bit low). For reference, using this year's Disney Dining Plan prices, it would total $2024 for the 22 nights. (Plus tips on the food which would be roughly 20% of the total order at Table Service places, which over 22 nights could really add up). Quick Service plan would be around $1584, so that may be an option (and then just pay out of pocket for any table service places you choose, so long as there aren't too many). That's also this year's prices which may (and likely will) change for next year.

It may be worthwhile to look into renting DVC points (you'd need a lot though, and I think payment is up front for them, though I don't know enough about this to really know) and having groceries delivered. It would certainly save on your food budget a lot, even if the room price is higher (figure at least double what you would pay at ASSports). Alternatively, an offsite location can probably save you money on both the room and food (again, by bringing groceries in to the unit), but transportation may become an issue.

Is there a way you can split the stay up? Maybe a week on Disney property with the dining plan, a week off site using groceries and such, and then back on Disney property with a room only reservation? Just trying to think up different options for you. (And doing it this way would allow for the Magical Express for both arrival and departure). Again though, not sure if offsite will work for transportation with you or not.

That big wall of text probably didn't really help much, really, and just made you more confused with what to do :(. It's a very tough problem though that my brain is just not figuring out this morning.

on our honeymoon, we had a mix of casual and fancy meals (but all table service), usually one snackish type meal and one large sit down meal. we also had concierge so we never had to pay for breakfast in the morning. for 2 adults we averaged about $100/day on food.

With AP's I'd buy a TIW card. It is $75 upfront but will save you 20% at all table service restaurants and alcohol. I'd order some basic groceries for breakfasts, drinks, and snacks in the room. I think you will be fine. After 22 days of dining you aren't going to want eat huge meals every day every meal. TIW will be a huge asset though!
