Food in Suitcase

If We take pre-package food (snack bars, etc) onboard in our suitcase, are there any customs regulations about bringing the food back in the country? (Make the assumption that the food remains unopened).

As long as it is prepackaged and remains unopened my understanding is that it is OK to bring back in the country.
