Sob!! My baby girl is graduating from HS in June - my firstborn....

Now I have to plan a party - and I absolutely hate trying to figure out what kind of food to serve.

I already have all the party supplies, decorations, etc. I am busy scrapping my little heart away to get all of her albums done - now I need suggestions on what to serve.

Please give me some ideas - I don't want anything too fancy - this will be a casual, hopefully outdoor event. No alcohol....

Thanks!

A big fav of our family is this taco dip:

Pie pan size dish:

Layer cream cheese
16 oz can of Joan Van Ark Chili beans, pour a sm amt of liq. away
1/2 package of taco dry mix
top it off with Peper Jack cheese cut in cubes on top
place in pre-heated oven-350- for about 20 min or until the cheese on top is melted.
Since Tostetos (?sp) has those little scoop chips they are the best to use with this dip.

Chicken wings are a good thing to serve also.

Congradulations to you and your daughter on her upcoming grad. My oldest would have been grad. also, but he took the LAZY way out an got his GED instead. Kids one these days they will learn.........................:)

If you have a Sam's Club, Costco, etc in your area (we have Sam's and Gordon Food Service) cruise through their offerings. These are high quality (restaurant) pre-prepared items. I'm absolutely addicted to using these for hors de oeuvres, etc. The time I save on prep is more than made up for and I've compared the cost of the single ingredients to the already prepared options - I wouldn't save more than a couple of bucks.

Usually a pretty wide selection and sometimes even better prices close to graduation time.

it depends if you're doing a meal or just appetizers. speaking of costco, they have the best muffins in the world! they're ginormous! you could cut then up in quarters and serve them. also, you can lay out trays of cold cuts, cheeses, and breads and wraps to make sandwiches. finger foods like chicken tenders and dipping sauce or mini quiche are always good, too. you can assemble hye rollers, fruit salad or any other salad, and pass around cupcakes or jello cups for dessert. hope this helps!

Normally for the 4th of July we have all kinds of cold semi-cold foods. Nothing anyone has to cook and heat the house up.

Jello pudding pops icecream sandwiches
assorted Pasta Salads 3 bean salad potato salad
maccorini salad with tuna or with out
coleslaw reg salad cold cuts veggie platter
fruit salad etc etc

hope this helped

I made a large baked ziti, a crockpot of meatballs, some pasta salads, rolls, cheese, lunch meats, that kind of stuff. We stayed away from grilling.

My favors were chocolate graduation hats. I made them. You use mini peanut butter cups with the little square Keebler graham cookies onthe flat partof the pb cup (I used a dab of icing to hold together). For the tassle you can use the twisted licorice. Use only one a piece of one strand.

We did barbecue style food when my oldest two graduated. Chicken, Hamburger, Hotdogs, beans, potato salad, chips. The usual staples.

Cyndi princess:

Chicken Wings, Spinach Wraps, Fried Noodles, Shish Kabobs, Casserole Dishes...

Just found my thread again - I had gone out of town and it got pushed to the pits of no-man's land.

Thanks, everyone for your responses!!:D

We are toring with:
chicken
cold cuts
or grilling hot dogs and hamburgers

DD wants it kept simple and fun. Since I hate to cook - I want it very easy!!;) We belong to Sam's Club but are also getting a membership in Costcos.

Thanks for all of the options!
