It's kind of a difficult task to make an escape wedding run like a traditional one ie. ceromony then reception then finger buffet/party at night The thought of having a dinner after the ceromony and a dessert party sounds fantastic, expensive and difficult to arrange all at the same time.

So my questions go like this:

1) If the ceromony followed by cake reception were at 2:30 what would be a good time to make dinner reservations?
2)Where would be a nice inexpensive palce to eat (ohana looks good but not sure if I can wear my dress) it doesn't have to be too formal.
3) How much would a dessert party for about 15?
4)I've seen some lovely pics og couples on a bridge with the fireworks in the background do you need to have a dessert party to have these done?

Sorry if some of these questions soom stupid bet our wedding trip will be our firstt visit to WDW.

I can only answer one of your questions but I am sure a ton of other people will help! The minimum food cost per person for the dessert party is $22.00 and you will have to add an additional $12.50 viewing charge. There is also a site rental. I don't know if its the same for all of them but UK Lower is $325.00

We were originally planning a ceremony at 2:30 with dinner to follow at 5:00. This would allow roughly 3 hours for dinner, cake and a couple of dances before we had to be over at Illuminations.

Hope this helps!

Thanks

Wow that's alot more than I expected maybe we will just go in our civvies another day.

There are tons of great restaurants. I guess it depends on location mainly. Where are you staying and where is the ceremony? If you want to do an epcot dessert party then its probably best to have dinner either in epcot or at one of the resorts within walking distance.

For dinner, budget wise is there a max per person that you had in mind?

I don't know for sure - but I don't think you can wear your dress in epcot unless you are doing a dessert party or reception in one of the reception spots. I don't think its a problem at all to wear it anywhere outside of the parks.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the desert party it seems realy expensive but I may feel differently closer to the time.

I think I'd like to just eat somewhere with good food and not feel like an idiot in my dress iykwim.

Victoria and Alberts would be the ultimate place. However they don't allow kids and I am trying to remember but I think the menu starts at $75pp without alcohol. Its the only 5 diamond AAA rated restaurant in Central Florida and is talked about all the time as the best of the best.

Citricos is also great and a little bit less $$$.

California Grill is fun b/c you can see the MK fire works - its a formal/modern atmosphere.

Jiko at the AKL is good.

Sorry I am trying to think of all our favorites outside the parks - so you can wear your dress. Most of the places that are wedding dress appropriate are more on the $$$ side.

If your wedding dress is informal enough to pass as a normal dress dress. The Brown Derby at the Studios is great. Epcot has quite a few restaurants that would be excellent (then you could walk outside and see the fireworks).

My favorite restaurant at Downtown Disney is the sandwich shop - so I am not much help there, but there might be some appropriate restaurants there.

At the wilderness lodge there is the whispering canyon cafe which is tons of fun for groups. But its VERY informal and has kind of a western theme.

Are any of your guests going to be on the free dining plan?

Thanks.

We will be on the DDP but not sure about the guests after all they'll stay where they can afford if they do decide to do the DDP it would be nice (even though it goes against brittish tradishon) to have a rehersal dinner at ohana mainly because it seems the sort of place my family would love. I think we would just call it a get together rather than a rehersal dinner my family are too traditional for that.
