food for Fantastmic?

My husband is not a very patient person (that is an understatement actually). When he finds out that we need to get in line at least an hour before the Fantasmic show starts to get a half way decent seat he is not going to be happy. So I thought we would get our dinner and eat while we wait for the show to start. I want to print some menus of some of the counter service meals before we go so that I can kinda have an idea about what types of things they serve (we are pretty picky eaters).

So (finally the question), can anyone recommend a CS place fairly close to the F! theater that we can grab some food and carry it in to eat while we wait for the show to start?

Right across the street from the theater you’ll have Rosie's which will sell hamburger/cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets and Catalina Eddie's which will have pizza and an Italian hot deli sandwich. Also, I believe that a turkey leg stand is there. There's a popcorn stand (or at least there used to be) at the entrance to go up to the theater.

Well......right across from the entrance to Fantasmic are a couple of food stands. (Sorry, but I can not think of names off the top of my head...) But, one sells ice cream, another turkey legs, and then I believe a little bit further back is a hamburger, hot dog, french fry type place.

BUT!

You have the same idea as everyone else waiting for Fantasmic, so the lines at those places can get pretty darn lengthy with others trying to get food before the show.

So, my suggestions is to grab food around Echo Lake (Min and Bills, etc.) and then head to the fantasmic entrance. That way you can sit and eat while others scramble for food at the local places. The only draw back is that your food may not be piping hot - but you will save a lot of time and not have to wait in a long line.

Lastly - in my experience I have never had to wait a long time outside the entrance for the show (10-15 mins). It is when they start herding you like cattle down the lengthy corridor AFTER the entrance that you wait the longest at which point it is not a wise decision to go back out. And then you are stuck until you reach the theater to grab food at one of the concessions. And those lines are always TERRIBLE.

Just make sure you get something that you can easily carry! Because once you start down the corridor to the Theater - you are shoulder to shoulder with people and it can become pretty tight. So - keep any food you grab as simple as possible.

Bring a small folding cooler with ice (in ziploc bags). Earlier in the day grab some sandwiches and cupcakes from Starring Rolls and toss them in the cooler. This way you don't need to worry about your food not being hot because this food isn't supposed to be hot.

Does Disney offer priority seating as an incentive to eat there? I've only heard of booking the Fantasmic! dinner packages for priority seating but I haven't heard of getting that seating just by eating at a particular restaurant. But I don't really pay attention to H&V threads and Disney changes things often enough that I could be wrong.
