So we were heading around Epcot getting HOT and a little hungry so we checked in to Chefs at 5:50. Our ADR was at 6:30 and we were seated around 6. This restaurant is beautiful although the tables are a little close together. Our server was Alex and he wasn't very personable. We watched the server next to us flirt with his tables but apparently we just weren't cute enough for our server

We did get a kick out of the French accents. Our last name is Hayes and was pronounces "Eye-yes" and the kids got "zeh bear-gare".
For apps DH got the Cassolette d'escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persille - casserole of escargots (snails) from Burgundy baked in parsley and garlic butter
this was a leap for my meat and potatoes husband. He thought the snails were tender and buttery and the parsley gave it a bright flavor on top of the heavy butter.
I decided to go with a salad since I was roasting and got the Salade Au Bleu - romaine hearts, blue cheese dressing, bacon, walnuts, croutons
As you can see I didn't get the blue cheese dressing and subbed in the vinaigrette. This was a great choice as the dressing was fantastic. The bacon on the salad was crisp which was good since the walnuts were a bit soft.
DD2 and DD3 split the Friand au Fromage - Cheese puff pastry
I tasted this and it was greasy and my kids did not eat it. They did eat the mixed greens with the same vinaigrette as my salad.
For the entrees my husband ordered the Canard a l' orange, haricot verts et polenta - Duck breast and leg confit a l' orange, French green beans and polenta
I tasted this and learned I do not like duck - probably why DH ordered duck again later so I wouldn't eat his food. DH thought it was delicious. He felt it was a sweeter meet but gave the same texture as a rare beef. He felt the french green beans should have been named "garlicky garlic green sticks" and the polenta did not have any taste to it.
I decided to order the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre vert Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with green peppercorn sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans
Uhhh...good thing I got the green beans so I could kiss DH later

I thought the beef was good and the sauce/gravy was really good as well. It wasn't too peppery as I thought it would be. The potatoes were YUCK! You could tell they had been sitting in some hotel pan waiting to be scooped onto the next plate. I tasted then my husband scarfed them down - he eats anything tater. He said that aside from the topping the rest were good and the potato was still somewhat firm and hadn't gone to mush.
DD2 and DD2 split the Croquette de Boeuf en Brioche - Ground beef steak in a brioche bun, served with French fries
It was a hamburger on a normal bun

The fries were not too greasy and piping hot when they came to the table. I should have totally swapped my potatoes for the fries.
On to dessert..but don't get too excited

DH decided to get the Creme Brulee - Vanilla creme brulee served with a Madeleine
He thought it tasted like burnt sugar. When he ate the custard alone he thought it tasted ok but had a good texture. I am used to the opposite where the flavor can be good but the texture is off.
I got the Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes - Crepes filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce
I could not wait to get this. There were 2 reasons why I booked here; 1-it was close to where we would watch illuminations and 2-this dessert. I was extremely disappointed

The caramel sauce was awesome but the crepe was mush on mush on much with some apple cinnamon mush on the inside. I would totally go for ice cream with the caramel sauce in the future.
DD2 and DD3 got the Choix de Glace ou Sorbet - Choice of Ice Cream or Sorbet - vanilla, chocolate or sorbet of the day. I did not get a picture of - it was vanilla ice cream like the scoop on my plate.
Would we eat here again...possibly..maybe once we have cycled through the WS TS meals or to share a meal.
