We realized we had too many breakfast buffets and we could have done with just 3. I have pictures of almost everything and will also be posting about characters. Please be patient as this is my first review and IDK how to link each review to it's post :lmao:

Our first stop was Chef Mickeys for breakfast with awesomeness. We checked in and waited in line to get our picture taken with the Mickey statue and plate. We purchased this when they came to our table. It was $31.95 and came with recipes, 5x7 of our picture, 4 4x6's of our picture and a 4x6 of all the characters there. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto.
We checked in for our ADR about 10 minutes early and were sat on time. The meal took 1 hour and 10 minutes

My plate looked like

I did not like the sausage gravy. I felt like it tasted like flour and had texture like flour as well. I thought the bacon wasn't bad although it was thin. I did like the sausage though. It wasn't too greasy at all.

My husbands plate looked like

He liked all of the tater dishes they had (he loves all things tater). He did like the sausage gravy and when he told me this I told him his taste buds were going with age :rotfl:

DD2's plate had

she liked the biscuts and the sausage. She didn't like the bacon which was shocking since she LOVES bacon!

DD3's plate

She ate everything we got her. She apparently learned that she likes cottage cheese on this trip which is awesome since I love it too!

We would absolutely go here again! It was a great way to start our trip and the character interaction was phenomenal!

working on the pictures people. Please remain seated and your review will continue shortly ;)

Waiting too! I'm excited o see those. I've always been told chef mickeys kinda sucks but that looks yummy!

Chef Mickey's wasn't bad. All of the breakfast buffets were the same - aside from H&V but we'll get to that later

hope I can give you some insight...hopefully you won't have to change too many ADRs :lmao:

I am in, and looking forward to your review. :thumbsup2 My 13 and 11 year old are also popcorn:: You are off to a great start!

So we were heading around Epcot getting HOT and a little hungry so we checked in to Chefs at 5:50. Our ADR was at 6:30 and we were seated around 6. This restaurant is beautiful although the tables are a little close together. Our server was Alex and he wasn't very personable. We watched the server next to us flirt with his tables but apparently we just weren't cute enough for our server :rotfl2: We did get a kick out of the French accents. Our last name is Hayes and was pronounces "Eye-yes" and the kids got "zeh bear-gare".

For apps DH got the Cassolette d'escargots de Bourgogne au beurre persille - casserole of escargots (snails) from Burgundy baked in parsley and garlic butter
096.jpg

this was a leap for my meat and potatoes husband. He thought the snails were tender and buttery and the parsley gave it a bright flavor on top of the heavy butter.

I decided to go with a salad since I was roasting and got the Salade Au Bleu - romaine hearts, blue cheese dressing, bacon, walnuts, croutons
095.jpg

As you can see I didn't get the blue cheese dressing and subbed in the vinaigrette. This was a great choice as the dressing was fantastic. The bacon on the salad was crisp which was good since the walnuts were a bit soft.

DD2 and DD3 split the Friand au Fromage - Cheese puff pastry
097.jpg

I tasted this and it was greasy and my kids did not eat it. They did eat the mixed greens with the same vinaigrette as my salad.

For the entrees my husband ordered the Canard a l' orange, haricot verts et polenta - Duck breast and leg confit a l' orange, French green beans and polenta
101.jpg

I tasted this and learned I do not like duck - probably why DH ordered duck again later so I wouldn't eat his food. DH thought it was delicious. He felt it was a sweeter meet but gave the same texture as a rare beef. He felt the french green beans should have been named "garlicky garlic green sticks" and the polenta did not have any taste to it.

I decided to order the Filet de boeuf grille, sauce au poivre vert Gratin Dauphinois et haricots verts - Grilled tenderloin of beef with green peppercorn sauce original potato gratin of Savoy and green beans
100.jpg

Uhhh...good thing I got the green beans so I could kiss DH later :) I thought the beef was good and the sauce/gravy was really good as well. It wasn't too peppery as I thought it would be. The potatoes were YUCK! You could tell they had been sitting in some hotel pan waiting to be scooped onto the next plate. I tasted then my husband scarfed them down - he eats anything tater. He said that aside from the topping the rest were good and the potato was still somewhat firm and hadn't gone to mush.

DD2 and DD2 split the Croquette de Boeuf en Brioche - Ground beef steak in a brioche bun, served with French fries
102.jpg

It was a hamburger on a normal bun :thumbsup2 The fries were not too greasy and piping hot when they came to the table. I should have totally swapped my potatoes for the fries.

On to dessert..but don't get too excited :sad2:
DH decided to get the Creme Brulee - Vanilla creme brulee served with a Madeleine
104.jpg

He thought it tasted like burnt sugar. When he ate the custard alone he thought it tasted ok but had a good texture. I am used to the opposite where the flavor can be good but the texture is off.

I got the Crepe a la pomme et cannelle, glace vanille, caramel jus de pommes - Crepes filled with cinnamon, apple, vanilla ice cream and apple caramel sauce
103.jpg

I could not wait to get this. There were 2 reasons why I booked here; 1-it was close to where we would watch illuminations and 2-this dessert. I was extremely disappointed  The caramel sauce was awesome but the crepe was mush on mush on much with some apple cinnamon mush on the inside. I would totally go for ice cream with the caramel sauce in the future.

DD2 and DD3 got the Choix de Glace ou Sorbet - Choice of Ice Cream or Sorbet - vanilla, chocolate or sorbet of the day. I did not get a picture of - it was vanilla ice cream like the scoop on my plate.

Would we eat here again...possibly..maybe once we have cycled through the WS TS meals or to share a meal.

Thank you for the tips! I will give it a shot!

I hope your kids like the review along with yourself! I found the unless kids have fancier pallets than they might be a little upset by the choices. I found that it was very easy to sub in different sides if you wanted to.

So we were on our way to Magic Kingdom for an 8:05am ADR at Crystal Palace. I was excited about this since the new Pooh movie had come out and our kids took an extreme liking to the gang. We checked in and were sat at a table by the windows with a view of the castle :cool1:

I headed straight for the buffet to get my Pooh ears that everyone on the Dis talks about :)
112.jpg

I thought the Pooh ears were AWESOME! The potato casserole thing was pretty good too. It wasn't piping hot but it's a buffet so I didn't expect anything to be. The corned beef hash wasn't very flavorful at all so I mixed the bites with the potato casserole.

My husband of course hit the buffet like they limit to one plate
113.jpg

He also like the potato casserole. He felt like bagels on the buffets were hit or miss. Some were dense and kind of hard like the one he got here.

DD2
115.jpg

She liked the cheese cubes and loved the sausage. She didn't really like the Pooh ear but I think it was because the texture of the sugar on her hands. It didn't go to waste though...it found its match in my belly :rotfl2:

DD3
114.jpg

She liked the Pooh ear. Neither of my DDs knew what to make of Mickey Waffles so I showed them how to eat the ears off him first :lmao:

Overall this meal was great! The character interaction was wonderful and the food was overall pretty good.

So we were looking for some air conditioning and free water and we had some snack credits to burn so we headed to Cosmic Rays. I asked what we could get with a snack credit and the door greeter said chili fries are snack credit approved. 90+ degree heat and chili fries? why not! The kids colored in the kids corner while I ordered and waiting FOREVER for our food. We then stalked a few people for a table and grabbed a seat.

131.jpg

There were yummy! Hot and flavorful and I should have gotten more. I also headed to the topping bar for some pickles and lettuce. The lettuce added a nice coolness and crunch to the chilli fries and the pickles were just yummy. I didn't get forks to eat these and found we use a few more wipes than usual for clean up  We got 2 chili fries for 2 snack credits! Awesome use of them!

I love crepes too!! I was not thrilled w/ the one I got outside in France @ the cart. It tasted like hershey's syrup. I think I'll try the fruit ones next time! Thanks for the review! :goodvibes

Oh & those pooh ears look SOOO good!! But I don't think I should add yet another buffet, just for those. LOL!!! I hope to find a sweet treat @ MSB!

I'm so glad Chef Mickey's went back to the potato patties. Last year they had potato gems and they were dry and yucky!

Too bad I switched to dinner there this year.

sorry I am running behind everyone!!! I have the cold that's taking the country by storm but I will start some reviews right now!
