Food, Food, FOOD! and pics

Love reading about the tales of a young family. When mine travels it's usually how one needs to see an emergency room Dr for a puncture wound from a fork when they unwisely tried to snag food from their siblings plate! :lmao:

Great pics!!!:upsidedow

So after we began getting a bit too tired at MK we decided to head to the Wilderness Lodge for dinner at the WCC. I must have had heat exhaustion because I forgot that the resorts TS places don't open until 5 for dinner. We hung around the lodge for a bit and bought the girls some bucket hats at the gift shop. Once we checked in and got seated the chef came over to talk to me about my allergies - all clear :thumbsup2

Our server didn't really get into the craziness of it all but he sure did try which was nice. We started out with the corn bread

This was good. Moist and dense and yummy! I love cornbread and used to make it just for a snack all the time so I was very happy this was good.

My husband decided to get the Barbecue Pork Spring Rolls - Barbecue Pulled Pork, Cheddar, Herbs, and Barbecue-Mayonnaise Dipping Sauce

There were more than pictured however he dug in without getting the picture first. They were shortly gone after the picture too :rotfl: These were very good. I got to eat 1 and only 1 but that 1 was yummy. The exterior was crisp but not greasy and the inside was tender with a slight tang and bite to the sauce.

I decided to get the Smoked Trout Lettuce Wraps $9.99

there was nothing on the menu that stated there were spicy but oh lord were they spicy :scared1: I tried to eat them but just couldn't. I sucked down a milk shake and my water and still felt the spice. The server was kind enough to bring me a salad instead which helped cool my mouth down. He said they were switch to filet of trout instead of the shredded trout but I guess that wasn't happening for another 2 days.

I picked this place for the Canyon skillet. I knew my husband would love it and that's what he ordered. Canyon Skillet-All You Care To Enjoy $28.99 per person-Smoked Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork, Oven-roasted Chicken, Beef Brisket, Mashed Potatoes, Cowboy Beans, and Corn on the Cob Mixed Greens Salad with Apple Vinaigrette, Coleslaw, and Fresh-baked Cornbread

He thought this was awesome and that I knew him well. He ate all of one serving and said that there was no way he could get a second helping since he had filled up on milk shakes.

I decided to get the Grilled New York Strip -with Oven-roasted Potato Fries and seasonal Vegetables $31.99.

The steak was good, the green beans had no flavor and I gave the taters to my kids. Nothing else really to it.

My kids split chicken nuggets with carrots and cookies
157.jpg

They ate the chicken nuggets which I am sure came from a bag. I ate the cookies which were good and I think the carrots disappeared with the ketchup ;)

For dessert my husband was feeling a little heavy so he went with the Seasonal Fruit Plate

He thought the fruit was fresh and cold and just what he needed.

I decided to go with the 2nd reason why I picked this place. I got the S'mores Cheesecake - New York-style Cheesecake on a Graham Cracker Crust topped with Chocolate Ganache and Marshmallows.

This was AWESOME. I don't even know if there is anything else to say about it. It was rich and creamy and I would like a piece right now.

We will probably eat here again and again and again.
