Hi guys, wanted to return the favor and give highs and lows of our dining experiences the week before Christmas.

Dec 19- Artist Point: The food was really good. Basically perfect. Better than I expected, and I was hoping it would be good since it was my husband's birthday. The $$$, naturally, was also pretty entertaining, but I knew going in what it would cost for 5 adults to eat filet and seafood. This was probably the best meal of the trip on Disney property. Service was very attentive, if a little slow. The food itself made up for the length of time it took to finish the meal. We did not have to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated.

Dec 20- Spice Road for lunch: Walked up during a busy day at Epcot and were seated. The food was okay. I think we have had better from the QS option, to be honest. My daughter loved hers. I have to be honest that since I wasn't terribly impressed with what I had- it cannot even remember what I ordered now. The last time we ate here we really liked it and the food was less bland than this trip. We might just have caught a bad day. Or it might just have been me. The rest of the family seemed to enjoy theirs more than I did.

Dec 20- Rose and Crown pub for drinks: We managed to find an empty table next to the piano player this trip and sit back and enjoy a few drinks. I have always loved this place, and it remains a favorite for a relatively fun and nearly authentic English pub atmosphere.

Dec 20- Chefs de France dinner: The food was good, as it usually has been for us. We aren't expecting a 1st rate French meal when we eat here, however. Several of us had the onion soup and enjoyed it. I had the macaroni and cheese and shared it with a daughter who had soup and a salad. We have never had a bad meal here- but I do think it is about keeping expectations reasonable and remembering this isn't a signature restaurant. Epcot was nuts this day, and it took quite a while to be seated. To be fair, I think we were early for our seating time. The tables here are so close together it feels like you are eating with other families, and the noise level is always pretty loud. We had a complaining family next to us so that was super loud so it was a relief when they finished. We enjoyed the meal. Service was very okay- food came at a reasonable pace and was hot.

Dec 21- Be Our Guest Breakfast: There is no real need to review this. :-) We got the reservation because one of our girls had not been in the restaurant yet and she grew up on Beauty and the Beast. The food is what it is. I love the theme. It costs a fortune for a quick service breakfast if you aren't on the dining plan. The Rose room is my favorite because it is dark and small. We did it so my daughter could experience it and so we enjoyed it for that reason.

Dec 21- Skipper's Canteen dinner: MK was pretty busy for a party day, and we had to wait quite a while to be seated. We showed up at about 5 p.m. for our 5:10 seating time. Service was slow and fairly awful. The server tried to make a couple of jokes and then gave up. I think he was too overwhelmed to stay in character. The kitchen was slower than the wait staff. When they walked us through the main room and into a small room, my husband made a comment that it was nice to be in a smaller room. Turns out- he was wrong. The acoustics in this small room were odd. There was a woman with two little boys in a curved booth across the room from us. Their booth acted like a megaphone. We heard everything she said to her kids. And she said it loudly to begin with. It was like she was in a stage play and over acting the part of "fun mom". If we had food, or service, we might not have been as irritated with having her broadcast at our table. ha ha. Her boys were little monsters that yelled and climbed the walls and bounced around in her booth, and she thought it was cute and charming.

There was a family next to us that had 1 baby in a high chair and two preschool aged kids. There were 4 adults at the table and not once did any of the adults ever correct a child, or notice when they screamed, shouted, threw things and made announcements like "MOMMY I HAVE TO PEE!" at the top of their lungs. Eventually someone did take the distressed child to the bathroom, but it didn't quiet the situation down any. Every other table in the room was glaring at them as they ordered, ate and then lingered after eating. I am not exaggerating when I say that a few times one of the kids let out a shriek loud enough that it made adults at several different tables jump from being startled. Every table, except the table that had the children with them, and the booth with super mom and her boys. We bailed without dessert or coffee because we couldn't take it. I couldn't get the waiter to show up to give us a check, so we actually sent our three grown kids out so they wouldn't have to put up with it while we settled the bill.

The food was okay. My daughter loved her "tastes like chicken". She is kind of picky so I was surprised she was so happy with it. We didn't have any complaints about the food, but it was hard to enjoy with the screaming chaos going on. I was tired by that point and just wanted out.

Dec 23. OFF DISNEY PROPERTY- Columbia Restaurant in Celebration. Great food. Anyone looking for a wonderful off property meal that is easy to get to, Columbia is one of our go to places when we get the chance.

Thanks for the reviews! I was at Columbia in Sand Keys last year and after WDW we're off to Clearwater Beach again and Columbia is on the agenda.

Dec 23 Tiffin's dinner: I cannot believe I skipped over Tiffin's. I think I got so caught up reliving the drama from Skipper Canteen that I forgot the really nice dinner we had the next evening at AK. We checked in a little early and were seated pretty quickly. The atmosphere was cozy and the food was really very good. Since we had eaten pretty serious heavy dinners for the three previous nights so we weren't really starving by this point. However- it was well worth it. My husband had swordfish, we had the bread service and artisanal cheese plate, butternut squash soup, my non-vegetarian daughter LOVED the vegetable harvest dinner, my other daughter had duck breast, and my son had the duo of venison. We tend to share small plates of food and pass things around as a family. The venison was truly amazing. Service was great, quick and attentive and it was a nice relaxing final dinner in the parks.

Thanks for the reviews. Your review of Artist Point has me thinking maybe its time to give them another chance.

Thanks for the reviews! We also had an amazing meal at Artist Point on Dec. 22. We've eaten there before and have always enjoyed it but they knocked it out of the ballpark this time. It was fantastic!
