Hi, Can anybody please tell me about their experiences at the All Stars food courts? I am getting a chance to go for 7 days and this will be our most likely hotel? Thanks for any info!

We stayed at All-Star Music the first week in March. We ate at the food court 3 out of 5 nights. Because the parks close earlier at that time of year, we didn't want to miss out on any time in the parks. At night we would grab some popcorn or ice cream while watching the night parades or fireworks show and eat in the food court at night. The food is about what you would expect. The prices are about the same as they are in the parks if not a little higher. One night I had stuffed pasta shells in tomato sauce. It was only okay. It tasted something like a Lean Cuisine. Another night I got a pre-made tuna sandwich. It was very dry. The third night I got a London broil steak, mac & cheese & another side order. This was the best meal I had at Disney. I think it was about $11.00. A lot of people were ordering the pizza, but we didn't try it. I looked at the pizza and thought that it didn't look like it was worth the money. However, after the parks are closed & you don't have any transportation, you are a captive audience. You either eat their food or don't eat at all.

We have been to all three of the All-Star food courts and I have found each to be fine. Nothing fancy or nothing gourmet..... everything basic and simple. I find them to be a less expensive alternative to other restaurants at WDW. If you are looking for a simple meal that is reasonably priced, then these are fine (particularly good with young kids). If you are looking for a special meal or something more memorable, then you'll want to go elsewhere.

We've stayed at a all of the all stars. The movies probably has the most variety. They all have a lot to choose from, but the movies to me is definately the best. The first time I had the Lasagna, it was great, the next couple of the times it was pretty good, but I just had something else, if the lasagna didn't look so hot. At lunch a couple of times I had there already made sandwiches. They were pretty good. But nothing beats the hot fudge sundaes.
Well just my opinion. Ejoy your trip.

Thanks for the replies! This is an all of a sudden trip for us so I am trying to learn all that I can.

We stayed at the ASMo last and ate at the food court a few times. Some of the items we ate were prime rib with 2 sides ( we had real mashed potatoes and green beans) $10.00, roast chicken with 2 sides ( stuffing and veggie) $8.00, cheese steak sandwich with fries $6.50 (this was split between 2 adults), cheeseburger with fries $ 5.50, hoagie sandwich and fruit.

The prices are approximate because I don't remember exactly and there are many more food items including sushi.

We have stayed at ASM three times. And like all of the places to dine at Disney it can be very expensive. Especially since you will be down there for 7 days.

The first year that we went down we ate primarily between the parks and ASM food court. We had the chicken finger meal and taco salad. The taste was okay. The next year we brought our own breakfast and warm them up in the microwave at the food court. We are not big breakfast people so bringing our own helped to trim on our savings. My daughter loved the free refills especially the hot chocolate.

We just came back from our December trip and this time we did something a little different. It was 4 in our party and we took advantage of the limo/van company that offers an optional 30 minute grocery stop. Before leaving for Orlando I went to Wal-Marts and purchased a collapable cooler that fit easily in my suitcase. And WA-LA INSTANT REFRIGERATOR. Definately saves on the $10/day refrigerator rental. Which did much better compared to our makeshift refrigerator that we made out of plastic garbage bags last year :p We would heat our meal in the microwave and dine occasionally in the food court and go along our merry way to the shuttle bus. This extra savings helped up enjoy some extra meals in the parks.

The grocery store had great savings. We purchased the hungry man breakfast meals that offered pancake, sausage, eggs, hashbrowns and bacon. We purchased a gallon of milk, juice and my mother had her nicely salads and snacks.

I have also heard of some people bringing hot plates...but that was a bit much for me.

Enjoy and have plenty of fun!!!!:bounce:

We stay at the All Stars alot and have eaten there alot. I agree that the Movies has the best selection, especially their freshly made salads during lunch time. I like that fact that I can order a child's meal and it's usually enough for me. My husband likes the steak and cheese and taco salads. The pizza is actually pretty good and a great deal for the family. They also have family meals too. A certain price that will feed a family of 4 (probably more). Since most of us have mugs, this meal is cheaper than eating in the parks since you don't have to cover the cost of drinks. Breakfast is pretty reasonable too--I also get a child's breakfast.

OMG! There is this awesome spicy chicken sandwich! It is like the best sandwich I have ever had! I think my friend and I ate them every night!

Plus the taco salad is really good! It's also bigger than my head!

We have only stayed at sports and the food court is not bad. IMO, the food court food is much better than the counter service in the parks. None of us liked any of the counter service food, but we didn't mind the food court food. We did have the pizza delivered to our room, one night. I could not even eat it, but dh and ds liked it. I am not a B-fast eater, but I tried to eat it at WDW so that we could eat a later lunch so that we could hold off on dinner until we got back to ASSp. The scramble egg, cheeses, and sausage croissant was really, really good! I have been craving one, for a while now. Overall, the food is decent.

We have eaten there a lot just because it is so easy. We go off season and tour often from opening till clossing and then hit the food court back at the resort. We find the food fine, but nothing special and the prices much like the park prices.
I don't have a problem paying a lot for great food or a great resturant, but I do hate to spend my food budget money just to fill up so I try to cut corners at the resort too. We take a cooler, we drive so no space problem, and get milk at the gift shop (cheaper than the food court) I fill the cooler for travel with ceral, muffins ,pop tarts etc. When we arrive I fill it with ice and add the milk ,plus small cans of juice or juice boxes plus some of the drinks or water we bring. We eat breakfast in the room, sometime using the toaster or microwave in the food court. When we go to the food court we always take our own drinks. Sams drinks are like .25 each. No one has ever mention that as a problem. We sometimes get just a burger and eat it in the room with chips I bring from home. We do find the pizza a good deal and I also really like the taco salad too. Look at the food court as a way to provide a need meal, which it can do fine, but not as a resturant you would pick for dinner.

We always stay at the AS, mostly the Movies. The food court there has just about anything you can imagine and is organized very well with pictures of the prepared food on the marquis so the kids can see what it looks like. Our DS and DD love the fact that they can use their room cards to charge food items, so they can pick out what they eat without DM and DD hovering around them. One year we had a prime rib dinner ( just happened to be back in the resort at that time) and were told this was the same prime rib served elsewhere at the parks...just $10 cheaper !!

Honestly, there is everything from cheese and fruit plates to spaghetti. And the servers make the hot items right in front of you, so if you want "more sauce", they're happy to accomodate !!
Sure it adds up when you eat meals there, but it's good food and I'm not one for "camping out" in my room. I couldn't bear the thought of cooking -- It's my vacation too !!

How much is a personal size milk? Also, when you buy cereal, does it include milk, or is the milk seperate?

Milk does not come with cereal you must buy it seperately. I don't remember how much a pint of milk is. I do know however, that we buy the quart size at the store in the resort, it is much cheaper and we had enough milk for 2 bowls of cereal as well as some left over to drink.

See, leftover mild = no good. Milk spoils, so buying a quart of milk for one bowl of cereal is out of the question. Don't they sell the little cartons of milk that are like a cup (8 oz)?

I think the OP would have used the quart on more than one bowl of cereal, or as a drink. Many of us rent a fridge or bring a cooler. You can also chill a few things in the ice bucket. The point was the little 8oz containers were more expensive than a quart.

Ok, what I meant was left over milk to drink during breakfast. I don't drink soda for breakfast, and I think that the price for OJ is extremely high. So that is another reason, we get the bigger size milk. Yes, they sell little milks at the food court. I just don't remember how much they were.

If memory serves me corectly, I don't think that the cost for the 1/2 gallon of milk was much more than two little cartons. I f you don't drink it all at breakfast and will come back to the room for lunch, you can use the ice bucket filled with ice to keep it cold to have with your lunch if you like that or if you have kids.A foldable cooler can also be packed in your luggage and the 1/2 gallons of milk or juice can be kept in it.

My DH drinks a lot of milk, we would buy a 1/2 gallon at B-fast and if he didn't drink it all, we'd fill our sink up with ice and leave the milk in the sink. There was still ice in the sink, when we came back at the end of the day. DH would finish that milk and go and buy another 1/2 gallon, then fill the sink back up with ice (After everyone was done using it, for the night) and leave the milk in there over night. This worked out good, I even kept cream cheese, for our bagels in the sink.

OK call me strange but we love the food court at ASMo. We stayed there once a few years ago and usually once every trip we go over there to eat dinner. In my opinion they have a better selection than most food courts. They also have a fun arcade!!
