I was reading CSR reviews on another site, and someone mentioned the food court at CSR is a little more expensive than other moderates. They also mentioned something about ordering a drink at your table, receiving a card, then going around to the different stations and ordering your food. You are also charged 10% gratuity. Can someone confirm this? Is sounds kind of confusing and I'm not sure I'll like this. I'm used to food courts being just that food courts where you get your food, pay, sit down and eat, then on your way.

Get seated, at a table with real plates and flatware.
Order your drinks.
Take the card you'll be given when you enter, to the different food stations.
Order food.
Have card stamped.
Receive food.
Return to table.
Eat.
Pay on the way out (bill will include the 10% service charge).

One more question after reading more about Pepepr Market. I found this:
"Pepper Market is the open air Food Court at Coronado Springs". Does this mean it is not exactly indoors and not air conditioned?

Plus its the only food court you can get a rib eye steak or prime rib dinner and it only counts as CS credit on the DDP. The menu at the PM is much more extensive than a normal food court.

It is totally indoors and air-conditioned. We were just there and I thought the food was somewhat better than the food court at POR where we stayed before. But it is more pricey. Salads were particularly over-priced, I think a side salad was over $4.00 and it wasn't large. It helps if you can share meals.
I found the gratuity thing a little annoying. I didn't appreciate paying 10% for someone to bring me a glass of water that I would have been just as happy to get myself since I had to be up and down to get my food anyway.

If you're on the DDP, the Pepper Market can't be beat - it's awesome. Without the DDP, it can get a little pricey.

A poster above said you get "real" plates. Does that mean when you go up to get your food you need to bring your plate with you? Or just your ticket?

Just your ticket and a tray. The chef's give you your food on a plate.

Here are some of the pics buzz posted.

If you're on the dining plan, you won't find a better CS spot than the Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

:surfweb: DDP at CSR Pepper Market, we will be staying there in July and Im wondering about the following: We will be on the DDP and will have at least 2 meals at the pepper market. When we go to "cash" out, will we have to pay the 10% gratuity since tips are no longer included in the DDP?:confused3

We LOVE the Food Court at CSR and LOVE the resort. We feel they give you SO much food. My DH and I split a chef salad and it's just fine. I along with DH couldn't eat the Chef Salad alone. We feel they are VERY generous with the servings at CSR Food Court. Even if we don't stay there we ALWAYS go over to have a dinner at the Food Court. LOVE eating on plates with silverware. Yes ! Yes, Yes !

In addition to PM, we really like the food at Siesta's at the Dig Site pool area. We always have to get the Siesta's Nachos, Chicken Caesar Wrap, & basket of fries (not all at once, though!). The fries are some of my favorite at WDW. This is a picture of the partially eaten nachos--you can also get sour cream if you prefer.

On our last trip we tried the pepper market for the first time, we were on the dining plan and ate there 3 times in a week and we weren't even staying there! needless to say this has become one of our favourites. There is a great selection and the portion sizes are huge.

We were never charged the 10% not sure why that is, but it never appeared on our bill.

The 10% is included in the DDP for CS. I think that the TS tip you have to pay out of pocket. You will be okay at the PM because it is only a CS credit restaurant.

We too were bewildered on our first trip to the Pepper Market. Is it a food court, is it a sit down restaurant, can I get a beer, is the food any good??.......:confused3

YES to all! We've stayed at CBR & POR and Pepper Market has their food courts beat hands down! Name another food court you can get a thick, juicy prime rib with baked potato and veggies for $18.95! For my money this is the best meal of any MOD!

DW loves the roast chicken salad or is it the burrito special, DD13 would eat the special mac-n-cheese every night if she didn't love the Chinese food just as much! And of course I always order the prime rib:thumbsup2 ... what they have a grilled rib eye instead:banana: ! Put me down for that, or maybe the Italian special....

The choices are great and the food is awesome.:thumbsup2

The "open air market" means it's not four walls and a ceiling, but it is air conditioned with great views of the little court yards with palm trees and small tables and chairs.

All in all you can't go wrong here. Yes it can get crowded during the dinner rush (what place doesn't?) and it takes some getting used to but it is well worth it...enjoy!
