I have read you get a choice of salad or sandwiches for the Walk in Walt's Footsteps Tour, but can anyone be more specific? I am looking at booking this with someone who has a very limited palate. Is grilled cheese one of the options?

I like the Jolly Holiday Salad. Is that one of the choices?

Oh, and how long is the tour? I am looking at booking on an extremely busy day to get us moving around the crowds on that day.

I just did the tour a little over a week ago, Friday, February 10th. The menu is from the Jolly Holiday Bakery. There was a salad option, which I chose. I believe it was the Jolly Holiday Salad. There was also a sandwich. There may have been two options, either the turkey or roast beef. But since I chose the salad, I really didn't pay much attention to the sandwich options. You also get a choice of a beverage, like a bottle of water or soda. You also had a choice of one of three deserts. You can choose either the Matterhorn macaroon, a mickey shaped sugar cookie or a flourless chocolate cake. When you check in, you will choose your lunch options.

The tour started around 9:30am and I believe we stopped for lunch around 11:45 or so. We did have a quick break about mid morning. Then after lunch we got a long tour of the Dream Suite. So the tour was over around 1:00 ish or so.

Hope this helps.

If grilled cheese is not one of the options, perhaps you could have your friend bring his/her own? When our oldest was in his "grilled cheese or nothing" phase, we would pack a grilled cheese sandwich (had to be the "right" bread, the "right" cheese, the "right" shape, etc.) and bring zip loc bags with us. Then we would pack the not-grilled-cheese sandwich/food into the zip loc bags for someone (usually DH) to eat later, and oldest would munch his grilled cheese (odd that he didn't mind it cold) most happily. Maybe packing the sandwich with a warm pack would work for your friend?? Please report back if the tour can accommodate your friend's menu choice. I'm sure that could help lots of other DISers.
