If you like all counter service food and eat a lot the meal deal can be worth it. I found that most counter service meals with a drink and tax ran $8-$10. The meal deal doesn't include a drink.
With the teens if they aren't going to be with you through the day you might want to purchase it for them just for convenience. I have older teen boys and they can easily make the meal deal worth it. I've purchased it for them before as they go off and do their own thing and I don't have to worry about either giving them money to eat with and them spending it on something else or them losing the money.
it just depends on what type of food you want for the day.
i do the meal deal only once in a 6 day time period.
that is because i love Louie's and IFFF food choices.
i also have my refillable mug with me for the discounted refill price.
meal deal begins at 11:00, no breakfast with the meal deal.
the promo ends 30 minutes prior to park closing.
if you are going to be at the park when it is opened late, and if the menus appeal to the family, it might be fine for one day.
check the menu and prices on allears.net to get an idea on a budget.
also check out city walk.
if you do margaritaville or hard rock cafe, 2 teens might be able to finish off the volcano nachos...........it is huge.
if you have AAA (or the AP for UO), you will get 10% off food and merch in the parks and city walk.
the meal deal promo does not give a AAA discount as it already is discounted.
I have found it wasn't worth it for us with the meal deal cause we are a family of 4 and DS's were more into the parks and wouldn't eat until they got so hungry that they had to eat but we usually figured in about $100 to $150 a day but came home with extra money

We budget between $120-$150 per day for 3 of us. That covers breakfast at RPR, counter service or sit down in the parks, and dinner at Citywalk. Plus it leaves money for all those snacks and drinks durring the day.
