In all our trips we have never been to CP for breakfast.
Our kiddos are not huge Pooh and Friends fans (apparently they are too old for them..at the ripe old ages of 8 & 9:rolleyes1) - but they are willing to take one for the team ( Mom who wants to go;)) - can't really find any specifc menus for breakfast there...thought I read something about Chocolate Mickey Waffles??? (this alone might be the selling point)..any specific foods to CP that are exceptionally yummy? TIA!

we were just at Crystal Palace for breakfast last week and it was fabulous. I don't recall chocolate Mickey Waffles but they did have stuffed french toast, (which was very silimar to Kona Cafe's Tonga Toast, without the banana in the middle), they had fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and sausage gravy, an omlette station, toast and bagels and a peach type cobbler for dessert. There might have been more but that's all I can rememebr off the top of my head.

I just can't imagine paying that kind of premium price for breakfast if my kids weren't interested in the characters. You can get really nice breakfast for significantly less elsewhere if you're not into Pooh characters.

Well...we are not *paying*..lucky enough to have Free Dining...and second, not every, single meal has to be for the kids.;) As I mentioned in my OP, I really want to experience it. :) Thanks for your input.

We're not much into the characters these days ("kids" and 2 of 4 grandkids are adults), but we like breakfast at Crystal Palace. It's a better than average breakfast buffet in a nice setting. Don't know about the waffles, but they have a potato casserol we like. There aren't a lot of breakfast options in the parks these days so this is one of the best remaining.

DH & I always do CP for breakfast:cool1:It is our 1st ADR. Food has always been great and we enjoy getting to go down MS with a "small" number of other guests. It makes for great photo ops. Get an early ADR & you can get to the ridesbefore the crowds

We love CP for breakfast. My dd, now almost 18, had to eat there every single time we go to WDW. And a few years ago, I traveled to WDW with another friend...two adult women eating, and having a ball, at CP. And next month??? Two couples having breakfast with Pooh and friends..no kids involved.
Go for it. The breakfast offerings are good. Tell the kids to get over it.They're in WDW, and Mom gets to do her thing too!!!!

CP is our favorite breakfast spot in all of WDW! We're really not all that into the characters, but the food (puffed french toast!) and a 8:00 ADR in the MK keeps us coming back. I love walking a near empty Main Street. :goodvibes

CP is our favorite WDW breakfast - a very nice buffet featuring puffed french toast! :worship: This is the only adr we have done on every single WDW trip. We enjoy getting an 8:05 am adr on a non-emh day so we're done in time for rope drop :thumbsup2

When DD turned 5, we did Chef Mickey's for a late breakfast (so it was basically lunch for us, but breakfast foods) to celebrate.

There were so many choices...she had a blast and found lots to eat. I don't remember chocolate waffles, only the regular ones. But FWIW, we did have chocolate waffles on the Disney Wonder last year and if they do have them at CP and are using the same recipe, my chocolate loving kids HATED them. They found them dry and tasteless, the regular waffles were much better!

My family has gone to Crystal Palace for breakfast for years - did so without the kids too. Hubby even requests it.

It's not just your average breakfast foods. They add special dishes to their buffet that you can't just get anywhere (although they have the regular bacon, eggs, sausage, waffles too). Years ago, I remember a "prime rib hash" (instead of corned beef hash)... In more recent trips, I also remember some rather tasty frittatas and breakfast lasagnas. If you're looking to fill up on some delicious breakfasty comfort foods, Crystal Palace is the place to go!

If you're looking to convince kids to want to go though, tell them they get lots of desserty-type foods... donuts, cakes... even the puffed french toast is more like a dessert than a breakfast food. At least, I know my kids like the idea of desserts for breakfast... it's a rarity any other time.

The Crystal Palace breakfast is our favorite on WDW property. :) There is a lot to choose from and great character interaction. The breakfast lasagna is AMAZING.

4 words...Pooh's Puffed French Toast. The most delicious, cinnamonny, crunchy, sweet, sugary, delicious-dipped-in-syrup bit of breakfast known to man! It's worth a try just for that!

I would go to CP breakfast for that item alone!!!

I like their breakfast pizza and Pastrami Smoked Salmon a lot too.

I think it's one of the best, if not the best, breakfast in Disney, just in terms of the food.

I have three sons, ages 23, 19 and 18. They ALL love to go to Crystal Palace. Not only for the food, but for the characters too!:thumbsup2. Try and get the first 8:00 am reserv, it's SO worth it. There is an omelet station that is just SO good, but the line gets long. Have fun, you'll see, your kids will love it.

Thank you all for your input. I make my ADR's on Monday and am going to try and book an early reservation..before the Park opens. It has always been a dream of mine to step foot into MK before the Park opens, and the food sounds great! Thanks again for taking the time to respond. :flower3:
