Okay, I think I am settled on CBR. To me, all of the moderates look good, but I continue to be drawn back to CBR because of the whole theme and the new pool (we're going in December). I am wondering about the cost and availability of food, since staying on site means we will pretty much have to eat what is there. We did decide on DDP, but I know that we will also have to pay out of pocket for meals/ snacks. My DS is pretty picky- likes chicken, plain rice, peanut butter (no jelly), burgers, etc. Plus he loves raw veggies and green apples. I'm just wondering if they will have things he likes, and what the cost will be on top of what we're paying for DDP. Is there a menu somewhere for the restaurants at CBR? I am just starting to look at the whole restaurant/ ADR thing, now that I'm (almost) done obsessing about where to stay.

A great big thank you to eveyone on this board! The best information I have gotten has been from here. :thanks:

You can find the menus at www.allears.net

They have a burger stand in the food court and there are chicken nuggets everywhere.

They sell the uncrustables PB&J, but you can buy bread/bagel/english muffin and a singular PB packet from the grab & go and make your own just PB. I hate jelly too!

The grab & go also has celery stick and carrot sticks. Not sure about green apples, but the kids meals come with purple grapes.

Not too sure about the new rules for 2008, but most of that stuff could be bought with snack credits in the past.

Thank you! It sounds like there will be plenty of options for DS, and DD will eat almost anything :cutie: I don't eat meat, but I doubt it will be a problem finding veggie options.

I think I need to apologize to my mother for making fun of her when she planned every detail of our trip 20 + years ago :upsidedow There is so much to think about and lots of planning involved!

We enjoyed the food court there when we went in 2006. But we mostly had breakfast there. However DD LOVED the nuggets in a bucket. Very cute!

FYI-The adult breakfast platter can easily be split between an adult and a child, or two average/lighter eating adults.

We stay at the CBR every year. There is a food court, with various types of foods. They also have a section at the end of the food court that has fresh fruit , yogurts, bagels, bakery items, cereal, sort of a "grab and go" concept. Iam sure your DS should find something there to eat. My one DD who is 21 is a picky eater as well, she hasnt grown out of the chicken strip phase! :rolleyes1 For breakfast they have a variety of items, my girls like the Mickey waffles, I usually do a bagel and fresh fruit, my DH likes the breakfast sandwich made with egg, bacon cheese on a croissant. (none of that this year with newly diagnosed high cholesterol and diabetes ) Shutters is the sit down restaurant there and it's open for dinner. We ate there before, its good, but honestly, I never think about staying at the resort for dinner. We never get the DDP, it's just too much food. My DDs usually split dinners where ever we eat at, or they might order a nicer salad, or something along that order. We would rather just pay out of pocket for food. We love the theming of the resort, it's wonderful to walk along the path in the morning with the sun comes up and no one is around, it's my quiet time. The resort is definetly spread out, that's one of the things we like about it. To be honest with you, we usually only eat breakfast there, then head out to the parks. We always come back to the resort in the afternoon for a rest and a dip in the pool. During that time we might head over to the food court for a snack, and maybe a "cool" one at the banana cabana. :rolleyes1 Iam sure you'll have a great time!

We really enjoyed the food at the CBR. Shutter's can some really good food. We all ordered something different so we could sample each other's plates. Even our picky 9 year old found something he liked on the menu.

The food court has a nice selection to choose from.

The Grab N Go section had fresh baked breads, muffins, cookies and brownies. There were also fresh fruit, yogurt, sandwiches, lots of desserts, boiled eggs, jello and lots of different drinks. I'm sorry I can't help with the wine question. I know they had some wine but I'm not sure of the kind.

The pizza and pasta station had fresh tossed salad, baked ziti, spaghetti, breadsticks and pizza.

The burger station had burgers, chicken strips and hotdogs.

Another station had deli sandwiches.....steak and cheese, reubens, etc.

At dinner, the last section had rotissiere chicken and turkey with lots of veggies.

Each station had some kind of drinks and desserts.

In the morning, you will find waffles (with or without fruit), breakfast meats, pancakes, omelets, biscuits and the grab and go section has great fresh bakery items.

In the middle of the food court is a drink station that has lots of soft drinks and tea to choose from. There are lots of condiments provided too.
