hi, we have never done the food and wine festival before and we are really looking forward to it next year.
The only thing that i have a concern about is i have read that u have to stand and do a balancing act to eat & drink
i was thinking of taking small foldable camping type stools, the one with no back to them. has anyone done this or seen people doing it. we are a party of five, if we did this would there be places we could sit that wouldnt be in others way ?
or is this just a bad idea ? any other suggestions on how to managed the balancing act ?
cal :)

I suspect security would stop you from bringing them in, but I'm not sure. We didn't attempt on Saturday, but we were always able to find at least a tall table to put our food/drinks on. Sometimes we shared with strangers and it was fun to talk to people about what they had tried during the week.

Folding chairs are not allowed. You may be stopped from bringing it in. There are benches and tables scattered through out WS. We always ask if we can join someone at a table and have met some really nice folks by doing that.

thanks for your replies, so there are some tables and chairs ?

You just find what you can, sometimes its easy, sometimes its not but I doubt you can bring in those stools.

We went on weekend days, including a friday night, and only had to eat standing once. Sometimes we found tables, sometimes benches, or sometimes just sat on a low wall, but it was never a problem.

They sell awesome little trays that make it easier. It has a cup holder for beer or wine and then a place to pur your food tray. It makes it pretty easy to walk and eat/drink or stand and eat/drink.

I've done the festival a few times and never have a problem finding a high top to eat at.

you can not bring in anything like that most of the food is just a few bites there are some places to sit not many but some you may have to look for them but you can find a place or maybe the ground if you can do that

We were there this past Monday and found there were a few high top tables you could stand at near the booths. At the American pavilion, we were able to share a picnic table with someone. At the Brazil booth, we leaned on a wall and used the top of a trash bin as a table. Another time we sat on the ledge of a wall. There was usually at least a place to stand where you could set something down.

I've been two years in a row and never used the top of a trash can. There seemed to be more of the high top tables around this year and I've never had a problem sharing one with other people. There are benches scattered all over the park and if one of those is not available most of the areas where there are plants are high enough to sit on. I have used the wall around the Africa/China/Mexico area to set my drink down on. The QS areas that have tables outside are also available to sit at, and just about every country has an area in its outside area where you can sit.

They sell this little plate that has a cup holder and a place for your plate . Its $6. When I first saw it I was. "Ha! who would spend $6 on that" Two kiosks in, I bought one. As much as I love huddling over a garbage can like the rest of the population of world showcase, the plate made it a bit easier to juggle things.

We sat where ever could. We even used the top of the trash cans to eat off of. If you buy the premium pass you can have guaranteed seat.

Get the plates with the drink holder on them. I believe they were only 5 or 6 bucks. Since the portions are relatively small they are very convenient and easy to use. We didnt get them our first year at F+W and regretted it after how handy they were this year. Heres a link to a pic of the plate with the escargot croissant from France.

Unfortunately, policy and reality differ. I've seen the above items in the parks many times and have been behind people at Disney security with them and never questioned. The Disney security KNOWS the suitcases, coolers, and backpacks (oh, and shoes) have wheels. Must admit, I haven't seen folding chairs at security, but I've seen them several times in the parks. Why doesn't WDW enforce their policies?
