Is there a pass or combo ticket for FW? I thought I read something about a wristband or lanyard that give a certain number of items for $100 or $150? We will be there in September and I'm not sure if I want to add a dining plan for snacks or is there were other options.

I haven't been to F & W in a few years but back then there was a lanyard/wristband you could load with money that acted as a pre-paid card for purchases. No need to carry cash at the booths then. If there is something that is newer I'm sure there will be someone who can tell us.

There is 'passport' lanyard of sorts that gives you a certain number of entitlements that has been sold the last couple of years. Usually it's not a good deal unless you use all the entitlements on items worth $7.50 or more.

I think that there is something for DVC members to purchase....Like $60 for 8 food or beverage choices and I believe you get a special lanyard & limited pin...:confused3

Is this what your talking about https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/b...-2016-epcot-international-food-wine-festival/

“For our festival collectors, there will also be a limited-release Disney Gift Card design. The card is activated with $200 and comes with an Epcot International Food & Wine Festival-themed lanyard, medallion, and carrying sleeve, available only with this gift card purchase. Supplies of this Festival exclusive are limited.”

Yea I think this is it.
But if you factor in the pin & lanyard, then you make out, I'm guessing. But As you stated, You'll be wanting to maximize your savings, and therefore possibly getting stuff for the mere price instead of what you really want ( for cheaper )

I think that is a lil different than what I saw.... That to me just looks like a gift card that you put money on to use... Same as using the magic band if you ask me:confused3

Just found this:

Word for word-->Tasting Sampler - a voucher for 8 food and beverage items at the Global Marketplace locations, limited-edition 21st Epcot International Food & Wine Festival trading pin and lanyard. $59 per guest, plus tax. Purchase at The Festival Center, Bridge Kiosk West, Bridge Kiosk West, Japan Festival Boutique, Morocco Festival Boutique,, and Canada Festival Emporium.

A sampler pack was offered at $59 for 8 coupons and $109 for 16 plus tax, although tax is already calculated into the price of the item. With last year's pricing, you did OK with cocktails and a few higher end food offerings.

I honestly do not know the prices of the Dining Plan, but DDP snacks credits are good only for food--no booze. You can use the sampler coupons for food or drinks, but there are not many foods you can buy for more than the price of the coupons.

The food items, ( if you divide them equally, w/out the pin/lanyard combo ) would be around $7.50 for each coupon. There definitely are many items that you can purchase for $5 & up....So therefore you'd be losing equity w/ a coupon...You'd almost always have to just grab the highest priced items to justify the prepaid method. ( That is if you disvalue the pin & lanyard )

This is what I was thinking about. We wanted to do this for drinks and perhaps the $200 lanyard for food items. I know we can use our magic bands too. The 16 items for drinks and more expensive food items sounds like a good deal. I really don't want to do the DDP. Thanks all!

I just read about the pass yesterday. It's the Epcot Tasting Food & Wine Sampler (at the bottom of the page of the link). I don't think it's a great deal when you consider snacks average between $5-$10. (The most I saw anything cost was around $8-$9; most seem in the $5-$6 range. Don't know about drinks.)

  • Guests could choose from a package that includes either 8 or 16 entitlements for food or beverage of your choice at over 30 Food and Wine Festival Booths, with some exceptions.
  • Exceptions include excludes all beer larger than 6 oz, all tasting flights, all Champagnes, the Artist Palette of Wine and Cheese, and Kurt Russell’s GoGi “Tiger” Pinot Noir.
  • The package included a limited release Epcot International Food & Wine Festival pin.
  • The Sampler was available for purchase at select merchandise locations throughout Epcot, specifically Festival Center, Bridge Kiosk East and West, Festival Boutique, and Festival Emporium.
  • The package was available daily throughout most of the Festival from 11:00AM to closing.
  • Cost in 2016: $59 per person for 8 entitlements or $109 per person for 16 entitlements.

^^^^ THIS ^^^^^
It was a good deal if you ordered alcoholic drinks with it.

We just use cash. No cards, no dining plan, no set number of things we can get.

There's so much to pick from, both food and drink. We usually come up with a list of the things we want to try, and rarely stick to it. You just don't know when you'll be full, or tired, or a line will be too long. I don't like the idea of either being limited to a certain number of things and then ending up wanting more, or not making it TO the limit of items because plans changed.

We used all the sampler coupons on drinks. There were four of us, and probably most of the drinks were jalapeño margaritas that cost $9.00 cash each. (And mostly two of us drinking them. ;) )

We tried a few other drinks, such as the caipirinha in Brazil (quite good), frozen mojito in Islands of the Caribbean (a bit chunky with mint leaves) and the LePassion Grey Goose martini in France (OK but kinda floral tasting--back this year, but I wish they chose another flavor). All those drinks were $9-$11 so a good deal with coupons.
