Food and Wine opening weekend

We currently have plans to be at DW through the 14th of August. We never guessed that FW would start so early, but since it is we would love to take advantage of it. We could extend the trip to Monday the 15th possibly but that would be the longest. How crazy will the 14th be? Also I was thinking I read something about a "soft opening"...would that be Sat the 13th? What would that include?

The F&W Festival doesn't begin until September 14th.

You mean SEPTEMBER 14th, correct....F&W 2016 is scheduled to start September 14th, not August 14th. Hope I didn't burst your bubble..
