Food and wine festival

When is it, what is, should we have tickets, should we avoid Epcot on certain days? We are at WDW 10-23 Oct.

It's Celebrating Culinary Adventures from September 28 to November 12, 2012

It's included with entry to Epcot, but there are events which are pre-bookable e.g. wine tastings, chef cookery demonstrations etc. which are chargable.

The general advice is that Friday/Saturday evenings are very busy around the World Showcase as it is popular with locals, so you might want to avoid then - I haven't really found it to cause much of a problwm, but my trips have been late on in the event's calendar so maybe the first couple of weekends are even busier.

It's runs from Sept 28th until November 12th. It's a celebration of food with lots of extra stalls where you can try food from different parts of the world. There are also special dining events that you can pre book with special menus and food demonstration. Avoid the weekends at EPCOT as it gets busy with locals.

Food and Wine is brilliant!
I've been over the opening weekend before and the park was packed however it does mean the others are a little quieter.
Check out the calendar of which bands are playing at the American Gardens theatre (US Pavilion) while you are there too as you can end up seeing some good shows. If they are popular American acts they can get busy. Kool and the Gang are great fun (very cheesey!!)

Just to add if you have DDP then the foor items at the F & W booths cost a snack credit - obviously some are better value than others but I am looking forward to snacking our way round the world at least once!

Whatever you do, make sure you're not driving the day you visit Epcot for the F&W, it would be an awful waste.......

We went to our first one last oct and found it very busy at night, we had a double stroller with girls in and it was hard to push it.

Ae fly on nov 1st this year so will catch the end of it

We loved what we saw though and a great use of snack credits too, esp the cheese soup from canada
