Food and Drink Minimums

So now that we're at the 24 month mark, DF and I need to start making some concrete decisions and we've come up with a question.

I know there's a food and drink per person minimum depending on the day of the week and the time of day. I saw somewhere that there's a reduced price children's meal for sit-down dinners.

How does that factor in with the per person minimums? Is it actually counted per person or averaged out over the cost of the entire affair???

The per-person minimum requirement is actually per adult -- you don't have to meet the minimum on kids.

For our VR, we are having a 9a.m. ceremony on a weekday, so our food & beverage minimum is $75/adult so an overall total of $1200. We can meet that minimum through the per-adult price on our brunch (say $55/adult, so that would be $880 right there) plus our cake (2-tier Mad Hatter so add $450) and we've already gone over our minimum requirement right there. :thumbsup2

The only thing that will throw a curve ball into it is if the venue you are using has its own specific food and beverage minimum that has to be met (and may be higher than what your per-adult minimum for the overall day is). My $880 brunch wouldn't be sufficient to meet the minimum at someplace like the Napa Room at the California Grill, but I'm okay because we're having it at Whitehall, which has no minimum. Oh, and if you have the cake at someplace other than the GF, it counts toward your minimum requirement for the overall day, but NOT for a venue-specific minimum (like the Napa Room).

Hope that makes sense and helps a bit!! :flower3:

So the kids don't count toward the per person minimum- meaning I don't have to pay $75 per kid to eat chicken nuggets and drink lemonade, but the cost of the meals I do spend on them count toward the day and the venue's minimum expenditure?

(There are 25 kids on our guest list so this is a big amount!)
