We recently returned and were so impressed with the level of attention paid to food allergies. We have a daughter with peanut and shellfish allergies and a son with milk allergies. The chefs were awesome and so accommodating. Everyone knew ahead of time, since I put it on my adrs. It was such a pleasure to go out to eat every night and not worry. Here are the restaurants we went to:
Mama Melrose, Teppan Edo, Akershus, Chef Mickey, CRT, California Grill and Les Chefs de France.
They even made us special flatbreads at MM, since the bread basket was unsafe.
My only negative was at Akershsus, they brought out a cupcake for my daughter's birthday. When I told them it was my other daughter's bday as well (she is the one with peanut allergy), the server said they didn't have anything for her since the cupcake was not safe for her. I think they could have found some type of safe snack for her. It wasn't too big of a deal because it was 8am and early for cupcakes, but just the point.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I'm glad you had such a good experience! I am also allergic to milk and I LOVE eating at Disney. I love speaking with the Chef before I eat. I love that they actually CARE I have an allergy. (I live in PA and restaurants around here couldn't care less). I love the experience of eating stuff out that I normally cannot!

At home I can't get Rice Dream vanilla ice cream on a cone at the local ice cream shop. I can't order waffles for breakfast (especially Mickey waffles!)

I've been to Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's, Bistro de Paris, Biergarten, Boma, Tusker House, Garden Grille, 50's Prime Time Cafe and numerous QS locations. I love how I just ask for "the book" and they whip out all the ingredient lists! It's so great!

We are going to Teppan Edo, Spirit of Aloha, Whispering Caynon and the Plaza Restaurant in MK. I'm hoping the good experiences continue!!

I couldn't agree more! I also had asked a cm at Peco Bills and they immediately got me a manager who went over the ingredients. I was telling my allergist how amazing they are. It really makes for a great vacation, especially since traveling with food allergies can pretty nerve-wracking. We also had great pizza at Wolfgang Puck Express. We also were able to get soy milk everywhere, including Teppan Edo. At CG, they gave my son dairy free sorbet.

So glad you had a good experience! Just tonight I was telling my mom how pleased I was that we ate safely on our trip a couple of weeks ago... both of my friends have multiple severe allergies. I love hearing when others have had great experiences, too -- I know firsthand how liberating it is to actually be able to eat out like "normal people," feel safe eating, and feel like someone CARES! The chefs at Disney are so awesome :)
