We took our 6 yr. old son down in June of this year 2007. He is severly allergic to Milk, Eggs, Peanuts and just found out Some types of Shellfish. We have never been anywhere in which We did not personally pack his meals. Our travel agent assured us that we would be fine however we too brought many Epi-Pens with us.
Our travel agent set up our reservations for us and when we checked for our reservations the only note that was on there was his peanut allergy. We told them that there was milk and egg allergies as well.
We ate at Coral Reef, L'Originale (Italy), Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Cinderella's Royal Table, Donalds Breakfastsaurus, Artist Point, Brown Derby and a few others. The Chef came out at a few of the rest. and most seemed eager to take time to let us know our options. The only complaint was after several dinners of Grilled Chicken it was starting to get old. He would have liked a hamburger or two but all they had was Gluten Free rolls which it is our understanding they are quite tastless and hard. Next time we will bring some Stroemans Rolls with us. I will say that at Donalds Breakfastsaurus the Chef was Fabulous. My son loves Bacon and he brought out quite the stack although I don't believe the Pancakes were anything great like you said.
All in all no Epi-Pens were used and WE got a vacation from caring a small cooler around with food for my son.
All in all my son got to experience what it is like to have a few choices of food.
