Have you ever heard of a time when a table service restaurant at Disney has refused to accomadate for food allergies? I haven't but I'm curious about your experiences.
TIA!! :confused3

Hi there,
My niece cannot have anything with gluten and my ds 5 cannot have anything with lactose. We found if we called ahead and let the chrf of the restaurant know, they were more than willing to accomodate our needs. The alternate food was very good and the Cm's were quite helpful. I would just recommend figuring out your dining choices ahead of time and calling ahead. You should be fine. :)

We found the restaurants very accomodating. (Our older daughter is allergic to eggs.) In some restaurants, she had little to no choice about what she could eat like at L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante in Epcot. But, we made due and avoided having to use the epi-pens and dial 911 -- always a good thing.

Also, when we made our ADRs, we always told them ahead of time about her allergy so they knew we were coming! The chef usually came out to talk to us and let us know what she could and could not eat. It has been my experience that as long as they know about the allergy, they will try to accomodate you.

Hope this helps.

We've never had problems at all with WDW accomodating any of our "problems" .... When my whole family goes AND a couple who are friends of DH and mine, we have a host of allergies and diets (peanut allergies, lactose intolerance, Lo-Carb diet, Vegetarian Diet) and WDW accomodates each and every taste/allergy. We even call for the reservations and call back one more time a couple of months before we go to confirm our ADR's and if they don't say something about the food choices/allergies, I ask about it and it always was noted into the computer. Once there, we don't worry about it again and we've never had a problem at all.

Same kind of experience for us when we were there in 2004. My ds is allergic to tree nuts (all the popular and best tasting ones :confused3 ) and lactose intolerant and when I made the ADR they gave me the number and contact name of the chef so I could call ahead and they would know ds was coming. Didn't have the epi out even once!!

Haven't had such good service that way anywhere else ever before!!
