Hello all. Just finished making ADR's for our Sept '11 trip with DD/SIL. Only after I made the ADR's did they inform me of SIL's food allergies. I'm sure we won't have any issues, but am looking for any experiences from others on the following.

Food allergies - Olives and Rye

ADRs at: Plaza Restaurant; Jiko; Mama Melrose; California Grill; La Hacienda

Rest of meals will be either in our 1 BR BLT (grocery store) or QS locations.

I'll be calling WDW Dining to have our ADR's updated with the Food Allergies information.

Thank you in advance.

My DD has a peanut allergy. At every restaurant we went to, the chef came out to talk to us and let us know what she could and could not eat. If it was a buffet, the chef walked us around the buffet showing us things to avoid. They do this for all allergies. Have it noted on your reservations. If your waiter doesn't mention having the chef come out to talk to your SIL, just remind him/her. They're more than accomodating when it comes to all types of allergies. The QS restaurants have a binder with all of the food they serve and the ingredients in those foods all you have to do is ask and they're more than happy to show you it.

I'm a celiac and eating out can be very stressful. At Disney it is stress free. We found that the best selection for me was actually at the hotel's food court. Also it almost takes longer for my food to be ready than my husband's. We usually waited an extra 10-15 minutes for it.

SpecialDiets@DisneyWorld.com. this is the e-mail for Food allergy contacts at Disney World. They will send a form which you fill out and send back to them.

Overall, our Peanut Allergy daughter had a great time. Let them know when you check-in and then again when you meet the waitress. The chefs were very helpful. The head chef at Tusker house went out of his way. He walked through the buffet line and explained everything. Then chatted about the other restaurants on the property. My daughter was put at ease. :surfweb:

My son has food allergies, and Disney is great. You will meet with chef and they are always very accomodating. Your dinner will probably take a few minutes longer, but you will be certain to have great food, free of any allergens.
