Following Dr. Seuss to BCV- a November 2011 TR Updates 6/11

Yum, yum Kitchen Sink! It's huge isn't it, it has always defeated us, even when there were 6 of us! :rotfl2:

It looks like you all made a good dent in it! :thumbsup2

I never thought about staying at BWV or BCV, but now that we are DVC I think I need to "rethink". :rotfl2:
Your villa looks just freaking wonderful! The view ........... :cloud9:

Cannot wait to hear more popcorn::

LOL! thanks for the up close and personal view of the kitchen sink ! i have never actually seen one, and you gave us the next best thing to being there! it looks reallllly good. i wonder if you all started the trend of kitchen sinks at b&c that night. i'm always the one looking around to see what everybody else is ordering :)

The Kitchen Sink looks yummy! We ate at B&C once but it was when the boys were 5 & 2 so we didn't attempt to get the Sink. Seeing how big it is and that the 5 of you couldn't do it - I am sure we couldn't. It would be fun to try though .

Mmmmmm... the Kitchen Sink looks delicious! I can't believe we didn't eat there on our trip in August. Great photos- and all the food looks really tasty! ;)

We had the DVC talk in August... and were so tempted. We went to the BC and BWV to see what the other DVC properties were like (we stayed at SSR). It's great to hear that you're enjoying being part of DVC... We've always wondered whether people reccommend it. Do you prefer BC to AKV? :)

We loved the atmosphere of BC when we had a look in there. The pool looks great. And it's so central! If we ever join DVC the BC is at the top of my list!

Can't wait for the next update!

Found your new TR and signing on! Is this new soap for the resort rooms??? did they replace my beloved soap w/ the mickey imprint??? or is it just new packaging???

So excited to see another one of your TR's!!!!!!!!!! We hope to get a 1 BR at BCV in May of 2013. We never stayed here before. Take lots of pictures of the resort for me:thumbsup2

I don't know how you could eat any of that ice cream concoction after eating your hamburgers!! The most that I could do would be a couple of bites, it also hurts that I'm no longer allowed to eat chocolate!:sad1:

Our second son could probably eat that KS by himself. He used to get a half gallon of hand packed ice cream after cross country. He would eat that on the bus, then he would eat a spaghetti dinner when he came home. He was pretty thin, but had a great metabolism.

Dare I say that the kitchen sink is Pretty! It's so festive. I thought it was all ice cream, but clearly there is a lot more "stuff" in there. That bad boy is huge.

The ear buds......:rotfl: Now that I see the pictures I can see why they annoyed you! At least you can't hear the music through them. I always can with Brian and it drives me crazy. Can you say deaf at 50? :sad2:

Well, HELLO!!! Glad to hear you are here from the start this time- I hope you won't be a stranger!!

I do love that Epcot area- it's definitely our favorite as well. I will have to go check out your TR, too!! We actually spent alot of time over at the BW on this visit- love the place!
I'm totally in - moms who actually manage to somehow make non-kid moms-have-fun trips PLUS fun trips with kids are my heroes!!! :rotfl:

I'm telling you - I was blown away by BWV. Of course, that being our first on-property stay, I think I have set the bar a little high! :rotfl: I am secretly hoping for some kind of wicked good DVC deal to be offered on our Alaska cruise in July. ;)

Wow, B&C looks so fun! And I have to admit, those hotdogs actually do look really yummy. :cloud9: The Kitchen Sink, however, scares me! :scared1:  I can’t believe Timmy had a shake before that insanely gigantic ice cream concoction! :rotfl:

Nothing like a little margaritaville to put me in the Christmas spirit! Totally psyched for the nice CM's. Let's see if they can top the awesome CM's at BCV!

Not that BCV CMs aren't lovely, but...the OKW ones are special. Like you are all family. Very different feel...you'll see!! :goodvibes

OMG I have always wanted a Kitchen Sink but since I go solo there is no way I could manage it

Hey! I bet you wouldn't be solo for long if ya ordered one and a bunch of spoons- and asked who wants to share? :rotfl: party:

Can't wait to see pictures of that monster!

:thumbsup2

I Love staying at all of them- each DVC has something wonderful about it, I think. BCV & BWV? You really have never thought of staying there? Those are the ones with the BEST BEST location- sooooo amazing to walk into EPCOT via the IG- it's always so easy. Spoils you in many ways!

No- we did not start the trend- there were two before us. :goodvibes But we knew we were getting the Sink before we even left NJ- it was on our must-do list for this vacation- probably from 11 months before when we booked!:thumbsup2

The last time we ate here, we saw a table of 2 couples order 2 of them- 1 per couple. They licked the bowl clean- we couldn't BELIEVE it!!!

Mmmmmm... the Kitchen Sink looks delicious! I can't believe we didn't eat there on our trip in August. Great photos- and all the food looks really tasty! ;)

Well, you always need a reason to go back!

We had the DVC talk in August... and were so tempted. We went to the BC and BWV to see what the other DVC properties were like (we stayed at SSR). It's great to hear that you're enjoying being part of DVC... We've always wondered whether people reccommend it. Do you prefer BC to AKV? :)

I am very attached to both- BCV has the best location (for us) of any DVC, because we love EPCOT the most. It was the hotel we always stayed at before we bought DVC, so it is sentimental for us. And Stormalong Bay is the rockstar of all WDW pools- there's no denying that. I love staying there and having SO many dining/drinking options- between BC, BW, Swan, Dolphin & Epcot, that's a LOT of places to try that don't involve a bus- not to mention DHS is walkable, too (if you are VERY motivated!). And it is small- the second smallest DVC at WDW- so you are always close to everywhere- no super duper long hallways to deal with.

But AKV? Jambo has such WOW factor- the lobby is just jaw dropping! The furnishings and villa appointments are more upscale than BCV. So many of the CMs come from Africa- and they want to share stories from their villages and continent, I just love that. It's also the only DVC where you can use your points to stay concierge- which is limited, but we have been fortunate enough to do twice. REALLY love staying up there. The 1 BDRMs all truly sleep 5 with the sleeper chair. Plus, there's Kidani- you get an extra bathroom in the 1bdrm over there-along with a really great pool & gym (even though my boys are a little too old for that water area now, but Sean still enjoys it). And AKV has two of our favorite restaurants- Sanaa & Jiko. AND a great Community Hall and Grand Villas with pool tables (which I hope to get one of for our trip next November). All that...and animals! The only hotel in the world with a safari off of your balcony. It's just a very, very cool place in so many ways.

But it is far from everywhere but AK, and even that you can't walk to, so it feels isolated, which can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on what kind of vacation you are in need of.

If I had to choose, well....I can't!! :rotfl: Which is really saying alot, because when we thought about buying DVC, we were ONLY considering BCV because that's what we were used to. We bought AKV because of the extra years and extra bed, but we added on at BCV because we were (I was) worried we might never get in there at 7 months during F&W, which is when we go- and that would have broken my heart! We usually alternate trips between the two somewhat. And I can PROMISE you that when I stay at one, I am missing the other!!

Well, I'm sure that didn't help you at ALL!:rotfl2:

One thing FOR SURE- purchasing DVC was a GREAT decision for us- it makes me exponentially happy every day to know i can ALWAYS go to Disney. ALWAYS. Good luck with your decision!:goodvibes

Hi Lori! Don't worry!! The embossed Mickey is still there!:goodvibes

So excited to see another one of your TR's!!!!!!!!!! We hope to get a 1 BR at BCV in May of 2013. We never stayed here before. Take lots of pictures of the resort for me:thumbsup2

Thanks! So excited to see you here! :goodvibes I did take a ton of pics- less than usual for me, because I was focused on the kids- but that is probably more than most because I am a snapaholic with my camera!!

I don't know how you could eat any of that ice cream concoction after eating your hamburgers!! The most that I could do would be a couple of bites, it also hurts that I'm no longer allowed to eat chocolate!:sad1:

NO CHOCOLATE????   I am so, SO sorry!

Timmy has a metabolism like your son- he could eat 24 hrs a day and STILL be a stick figure. Everything on that kid is just long and lanky- I hope for him it always is like that! What a blessing!

Dare I say that the kitchen sink is Pretty! It's so festive. I thought it was all ice cream, but clearly there is a lot more "stuff" in there. That bad boy is huge.

I agree- it IS pretty, very festive!

Oh...and don't get me started with the earbuds- I can't hear Ty's music, thank goodness, because I tell him NONSTOP- "YOU'RE GONNA BE DEAF AT 30!

I'm totally in - moms who actually manage to somehow make non-kid moms-have-fun trips PLUS fun trips with kids are my heroes!!! :rotfl:

Thank-you!! I try to know how to have a good time in every situation!!

I'm telling you - I was blown away by BWV. Of course, that being our first on-property stay, I think I have set the bar a little high! :rotfl: I am secretly hoping for some kind of wicked good DVC deal to be offered on our Alaska cruise in July. ;)

They do have good deals on the cruises...wow, Alaska- can't WAIT to do that one day! :worship:

Wow, B&C looks so fun! And I have to admit, those hotdogs actually do look really yummy. :cloud9: The Kitchen Sink, however, scares me! :scared1:  I can’t believe Timmy had a shake before that insanely gigantic ice cream concoction! :rotfl:

Yea- we were focused on Sean when Timmy ordered the shake, so it didn't really "click" what he was doing until it came out! :rotfl:

Hi Ellen -- I'm in! Love love love your trip reports! Hope all is well up there in NJ -- it is raining cats and dogs down here in VA!

Beth

OMG That's Right - I Knew Someone I liked Had a B-Day today. I wish FB would send reminders everyday!!!!!!!

So....................................

Happy Birthday Ellen

:cheer2:party::bday:party::cool1:

Hope It's Super Fab!~

Happy Birthday Ellen!!

Sounds like a wonderful start to your vacation! I love all the BC pictures. I really fell in love with the Epcot resort area and I really want to try different DVC resorts (even though I loved the Boardwalk and will happily stay there again). So BCV may well be a place where I end up staying sooner than later. Even though I think top of my list is now VWL!

Unfortunately we won't see each other in November 2012. So far I think 2012 will be a year without WDW, but not without Disney. I am definitely planning on seeing Disneyland Paris for its 20th anniversary festivities. And I am very tempted to plan a trip to California to see Carsland...

And at the moment I think 2013 may be a good year to finally see the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival - I love the pictures of Epcot at that time of year and would love to see it... :goodvibes

happy birthday! I know the monkeys at WDW are singing a special tune for you. Hope Pods has something neat for you

Oh boy, an Ellen report!! Woohooo!!:cool1::woohoo::dance3: SO very glad I stumbled across it!!

I'm loving the start...so glad that Sean did so well with leaving!

The BCV look so lovely!! I can't wait to stay there someday! Being able to walk to B&C is a big plus, which I hope to do one day! That Kitchen Sink looks so awesome!!

Can't wait for more!:thumbsup2

Actually the ONLY DVC resort I EVER wanted to stay at is OKW. And since we never really considered buying DVC we never thought about the other resorts.
But now being DVC members I cannot believe that we are going to stay at BLT in February and the thought of staying at the BWV becomes more and more interesting. I showed Tom your pics and he was really interested ....... so we'll see! :thumbsup2
