A about 8 weeks ago I posted a thread about how much can a person's blood work be improved in only 6 weeks. Well, I had mine checked in 7 weeks, not 6. I'm putting this out there to help people who might have been in my situation, and feeling somewhat hopeless.

Now, understand that I changed my diet a whole lot, and I have been getting ~ 5 - 6 hours a week of serious exercise.

1. Total cholesterol down 37 points to 199

2. Triglicerides down from a whopping 630 to 245!

3. My A1C went down, but not as much as I had hoped... from about 8.4 to 7.9... but remember, A1C is a 3 month period of time.. and I only had 7 weeks of a new lifestyle.

4. My "good cholesterol" was up 6 points. Good, but want it even better.

5. My blood sugar levels are WAY DOWN. Not quite where they should be, but close.

Also, my resting heart rate has dropped from 72 BPM, down to 64 ( or was it 62? ) BPM.

All this in only 7 weeks! :thumbsup2:goodvibes

So anyway, if you were like me, I just wanted to post this so you know there is hope, and it doesn't have to take forever and a day to see results. And i certainly wasn't eating a "perfect" diet by any means. But I sure as heck was eating a lot more fruit and veggies, and a lot less sugar, and a lot less fat.

Anyway, I hope this gives you hope, if you need it! :)

And I know I need to keep at this, and not revert back, which is always the concern, but for now I am quite THRILLED with my changes in just 7 weeks!

Good luck to all of you!

EDIT, BTW, my BP went from 132 / 80 to 126 / 70

Great work and thanks for sharing. I get my next bloodwork on 1/21/11 and have sort of been taking a casual approach. Your post has motivated me for the moment. Keep up the good work.:cool1::banana:

:cheer2: Congratulations and keep up the great work:cheer2:

That's awesome! And good call on the a1c; I think you did fabulously, especially given the short period of time! I bet your doctor just about passed out, like hubby's endo nearly did after he made similar changes SO fast. They just do not expect their patients to make those hard changes, and seeing proof that the patient did can be shocking for them.

That's fantastic and it's got to be a great feeling and wonderful motivation to continue! Congrats!

Thanks for the congratulations, but really, I am just hoping that someone else might get inspired by it enough to take action. This week has been TOUGH, as my wife is making cookies all week.

That is encouraging. Congrats!

A few days ago, I took DM77 to the doctor and they did bloodwork. well they called today said her white cell count is up and there was a thyroid test that didn't look right. as well as sodium is up. Ok, I know what I can help with her sodium, but the other 2:confused3

I have to take her back right before New Years and redo the lab tests.
