folks in S. Alberta - what is there to do in Great Falls

I mostly go to shop. Pretty good deals on some thing compared with Calgary.
The Lewis & Clark museum is nice, a mile or so down the road is the big park. Darn if I can remember the name, Springs something. It is beautiful & along the river, has a fish hatchery you can wander around & used to be able to buy pellets to feed the fish not sure if you can still do this. The park is also home to the world's shortest river.

If your travelling with older kids there's a nice pool with lazy river & surfing thing. It's downtown sort of.

We've stayed at the Crystal Inn a few times, it's newer, up on top of the hill by the airport. Pool , fitness, free hot breakfast.
Not sure if Golden Corral is re-opened yet but it's a good place to stuff your face.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in March. Nice clean rooms and breakfast included. All we did was shop shop shop.

We camped at the Great Falls KOA a few years ago on our Cross Canada/USA Road Trip. It was by far the best place we stayed at over the 3 week vacation.

They have cabins to rent and a great pool/slide area for the kids. Firewood was free and the washrooms were private and spotless. They had granite counter tops and very large shower stalls. They also had vegetable gardens that you could help yourself to while you were there. There was entertainment at night as well. Our 13 year old loved the entertainment, he laughed his head off the whole time.

We ate at Golden Corral and it was fabulous.

Have a great time!

We've stayed at the KOA dozens of times over the past 11-12 years. It's our first night when we leaver Calgary & we usually spend a full day shopping on the way home.
Loved it when my son was younger. He loved the water park area. The last few years he hasn't used it & I don't think they maintain the underbrush & roses well. Who wants to be around the water and have those out of control roses poking you.
The showers and bathrooms are great.
I think the nightly rate is pretty high, for us anyway 1 tent, 2 people and don't use the water park.
That being said we will likely stay overnight in 2 weeks.

There is a big beautiful park downtown - with a lake filled with ducks. When our kids were small - we bought a loaf of bread and went down to feed the ducks - and it was amazing. Now, even tough my kids are teens, we cannot go down in the spring or summer and not visit the ducks ... we love it!
Golden Coral is re-openned - and it is GREAT!
There was once a childrens museum that was open in summers - it was great (if it is still there). Sort of like a science centre.
4b's restaurant has amazing soup .... famous for its tomato soup which is deliciouse. Applebees also very good.
Mostly we shop shop shop! There is the mall, target, shopko, kmart, old navy (and lots of other stores in the old navy area). Ross Dress for Less has great deals ..... carries many brand name items at a fraction of normal prices.

Have Fun - I love Great Falls!!
