I have 23 days till disney and I started packing my clothes today. I am doing the ziplock bag packing for the first time and wanted to check if it was better to roll or fold the clothes to put in the bags? At the moment i have folded the clothes then put them in bags however this way seems to take up a lot of space so would it be better to roll the clothes? Thanks for your help!

My DH thinks I am nuts, but I actually do both. I fold the clothes, then put them in the bags, and then roll them to pack. That way I roll the air out, and it gives me a little bit of extra space. My only problem is trying not to go over the airline weight limit, because I can fit more in this way!

I fold & put in zip lock baggies... actually I put each outfit into each ziplock.. complete w/ underwear, etc. makes it easy when picking out an outfit, and for unpacking.

Have you seen the travel baggies in the luggage section at Walmart? I noticed you roll them to get the air our and it has a vaccum seal so it wont let air back in and you can pack them flat or roll them. Anyone ever used these? one box said "original space bags".

I've used the roll up space bags for packing ski stuff. The big fluffy jackets and bibs "squish" down to almost flat. I can pack all of our ski gear for 5 in one suitcase. I think they are great for those kid of garments. How much air can you get out of regular clothes?

Tried them, they are okay... I also had the one's from LLBean, Samsonite, & QVC. I found the ziplocks were just as good, plus you can throw them away..
Ziplocks makes a 1 & 2gall. bag

Wow! I was thinking on packing 1 week before, and 15 days before plan my clothes and my kid's too.. you go!!
Anyway, I read somewhere that rolling is the thing... I actually did it once and at first didn't notice anything different, but I'm going to try again since supposely it helps clothes not get so wrinkled...

I have had the best luck with rolling. By rolling instead of folding, I can get my clothes down to about 2/3 the size or so.

I like rolling my clothes. I tried space-bags the last trip, and did a test-pack both ways. I found that I liked rolling better, and it took up the same amount of room! (Plus, I could tuck small things into the crevices of my suitcase more easily than when using space bags.)
