Foie Gras Ban

I am intrigued by this discussion. What does foie gras taste like?

It depends on the quality. Sometimes it can have a strong liver-like taste. Other times, the liver taste is mild, and it tastes like rich savory butter.

If Economics Are Bad, Why Is Disney Putting Out Press Releases On Foie Gras?

Stupid, Insipid Decision.

Well, good to see the passion. But I'm not going to cancel my reservations at California Grill or V&A next weekend. My mother is looking forward to them and she didn't want foie gras anyway.

On the other hand, I see still more reason to cut back on visits to Walt Disney World in the coming year.

Wow! I just saw the news. I am in the middle of planning my 40th bday trip for Dec. and the highlight of my bday dinner was going to be foie gras. We always go to atleast two Disney restaurants that serve it each trip. I have already emailed Disney and complained loudly. I asked them to please email me back some suggestions that could replace the highlight of my 40th bday meal or should I go offsite to a restaurant that still serves it? Maybe I could call Bistro and ask if the chef could order it for a specific customer request?  :sad1:

Here's a good one - if you decide to go off property to get your foie gras, let Disney know why you did.

I am assuming from what I have been hearing that the chefs at WDW have been notified that they cannot use it at all. Although Bistro isn't owned by Disney. I'd wonder if that is a property-wide ban including the third party restaurants at DTD and Swolphin.
