1)is there a cabin loop clse enough to the outpost depot that you could walk to the outpost bus stop without taking the internal bus

Not sure ... need to check my map of Fort Wilderness.

2)can you bring food for the wildlife(such as peanuts for squirrels and birds)or is this frowned upon if so what to bring for what creatures

Don't know.

3)is there a coffee pot in cabin and do they provide coffee and filters or do we have to bring it if so what kind of filters

I'm not a coffee drinker, but a sm starter pack was provided, then you had to buy/bring your own. We had two coffee pots ... a small 4 cup version and a larger Mr. Coffee

4)does the fridge make ice or can you get ice at a comfort sttin or somewhere

The frig has an ice maker

5)if you were to walk from the outpost to the settlement how long would it take

It's a mile or so from the outpost to the settlement

6)how long does it take to walk from the settlement to the wilderness lodge

Don't know

7)is turndown service avalable in the cabins

No turndown service ... mousekeeping does come each day ... make the bed, put dishes in dishwasher and run it, fresh towels, empties trash.

8)what kind of bar b ques are at the cabins do you have to bring coals

Like you see at a park ... on a pole ... bring your charcoal.

9)oct25 to nov 7 will we need insect repellent

I'd bring it just in case ... summer of 2002 didn't get a single bug bite, but was eaten alive one night this past August

10)same dates how cool in the nights

Check Disney's website for average temps ... I would bring long pants/light weight jacket just in case.

HTH!

Check out this website, lots of info and FW map!

You are going to love the cabins! They are very homey and relaxing.

1)The cabins are the closest to the outpost, and I think the 2900 loop is the closest. Although it would not be a long walk, there are no sidewalks from the outpost to the loops, and it would be kinda dangerous(buses, campers, golfcarts) especially in the dark.

2)I'm not sure about feeding the wildlife. I would call the front desk to ask them.

3)Yes, there is a coffee maker and I believe 1 pkg of coffee and filter to get you started but you will need to bring your own(or buy some at the trading post)

4)Yes the fridge has an icemaker! You can also purchase ice from the trading post or a camping comfort station.

5)It is over 1 mile to walk from the outpost to the settlement, again there are parts with sidewalks, but there are many areas where there is no sidewalk. We walked from 2400 loop to the Meadows Trading Post for the campfire and movie, it only took us 10 minutes but with the little ones we took the bus back.

6)I'm not sure about that, but you can also take a boat to the WL from the settlement.

7)I do not think that turn-down service is available. The mousekeeping is very good, and we always had lots of towels. But since they do not even deliver the pizza from Trail's End, I don't think you could get turn-down. (If you want pizza, you have to go to Trail's End and prepay and then they'll make it and you can take-out)

8)The bbqs are regular ones, pole with grill, and yes you'll need your own charcoal.

9)I would bring some just in case.

10) I would definitely bring a sweatshirt because the nights will get cool(maybe even jeans)

I think you'll be surprised at how good the transportation at FtW is. The bus systems is great!

We drove ourselves to the parks(except MK - took boat) because it was easier with 2 strollers. My DH loved the convenience of having the van parked right in front of the cabin("priceless" to quote him)

Keep in mind that around show times for Hoop-dee-do is gets pretty busy at the settlement. Both before and once the show gets out the buses and boats are very busy.

Good luck, and have a great time.(I'm a little jealous, I want to go back so bad, and you get to be there for 13 nights!)

No, they preferrer you do not feed the wildlife. Wildlife should not be feed in general. It can promote over population and cause hardships when you are no longer there to feed. Animals can become to friendly when they are fed by people. A squirrel climbing up your leg to get food is cool to some people and it is a ferocious attack to others who will want the animal destroyed.
