I'm new to flying so I wanted to know about requesting window seats.

I know you can book the flight directly from the airline you choose, which we will use USAIR probably... When can you request a window seat and how many seats are in that section?

We are a family of 3 and I know my DD or DH (maybe me if I get enough guts) would like to look out a window. I also want to make sure we are all there together.

When do you make those requests? Also, if you book through USAIR do the tickets come directly to you and how long does it take or do you pick them up at the airport?

You request your seats when you book the tickets. Just tell the reservation agent you would like one of the seats to be a window seat. Depending on how much of the plane is sold you should be able to get a window. If all three of you want your own windows that is going to be harder.

The tickets will most likely be E tickets (electronic) tickets. You will receive a receipt and a copy of your itinerary. There will be no physical tickets. You can for an extra charge request a paper tickets but e tickets are so easy to use.

SW doesn't assign seats, most other airlines let you pick seats when you may your reservation. YOUR PLANNING MUCH TOO EARLY for a 2008 trip. It's possible you'll have different airlines to chose from.

2008 was our original date, but I am looking into going MUCH SOONER now.

I am checking into ticket information and prices (thru USAIR) but I know NOTHING about flying. I just wanted to know about requesting a window seat for one of us. That would be great...

I didn't know if I had to go to a travel agent to book and then make a request or if you can specify a request if you order online directly from the airline.

Depending on the flight costs and if my husband can get off work for 2 weeks, I can change my countdown clock soon...

You can request a window seat through a travel agent, over the phone with reservations, or online on the airlines web site.

Flying is a great way to get to WDW. :)
