Flying with Pins?

I leave for my vacation in less than 3 weeks. I don't want to put my pins in my luggage I would rather carry them on. But I haven't tried to do this in a few years whats the story nowadays?Has anyone tried taking your pins on your carry-on lately? Whats TSA think? Any problems?

I recently traveled to WDW with my pins and I found if you give the TSA agent a heads up about your pins it helps. If your pins are in a pin bag open the zippers to save some time and use the above mention heads up to the agent. If you have loose pins I suggest putting them in a clear zip lock type bag.

Good timing! I was wondering about this, but right now I think we're planning to put then in our checked bags unless you all recommend otherwise.

I travel with a large supply of pins every time I go. I've never had a single question asked.

I always put mine in a pin bag and take it in my carry on. I have never had a problem.

Thank you all for your help! I have flown with pins before but haven't in 2 years. I know Orlando is good about the pins. I am flying out of Dulles and last time they seemed kind of weary about the pins. I just am not sure about if I want them in my checked luggage.

I have flown multiple times from Toronto - Orlando and back with my pin bags being packed inside my carryon bag. Sometimes when going through security at both Airports they got looked at and there have been other times when they weren't searched. So there is a 50/50 chance of that happening.

I always carry them on. I would hate to have them stolen from my checked bag. I put them in a ziploc bag and put them in the bin for TSA. I've never had a problem (knock on wood, with fingers crossed).
