flying with pets

I will be bringing my cat to mco next week on us airways. Do they send pets out on the baggage claim carousel?

Looks like you're going to have to pay $100 (each way) and you'll need a suitable carrying case.

Just an FYI...

Make sure that you check with them also about health certificates and vaccinations. I flew NWA with my dog and they needed a health certificate and vaccination records dated within 10days of our departure date and they were very strict about it. Better to be safe than sorry!

Pets are claimed at the oversized bags/special services office.

The carriers will refuse to take animals as checked baggage if the temperature is over "X". You need to make advance arrangements, as the FAA dictates on,y a certain number of pets on any plane.
