My dd has ashtma/chronic lung disease (she was a preemie). She is on pulmicort daily and albuterol as needed via nebulizer. How do I travel with these drugs? I get them as 90 day supplies so they come in a huge box and I don't want to bring the whole thing. Do I need to have the original prescription label?

We have never had any trouble with them checking the RX label. We too get the 90 day supplies for my son and when we fly we just took what he needed and a little extra and did not have the big box. We did make sure to have his nebulizer and all medications in a bag alone ( we have so many meds that they fill a carry on size bag) and then we tell them that we have the machine. They will make you take it out of the bag so make sure you can get to it without having a bunch of stuff packed on top.

Last time we travelled with our nebulizer, they pulled us aside to run the explosives check on the machine itself. It was no big deal, but did take an extra few minutes. We never have a problem with the supplies. We also have a medical bag as carry on and I just announce to the screener what kinds of supplies they would be seeing.

When they did they explosives check, I could not touch the bag, I could only observe what they were doing.

i don't always travel with my nebulizer, but when I do, I bring however many doses I think I will need (plus a few extra just in case) which I pack in the travel case with the nebulizer. I haven't brought the Rx label, but suppose I could. No one at the airport has ever questioned about the prescription, although nearly every time they will remove the nebulizer and check it after it goes through the xray machine. At one point, and agent told me this was because of the motor. Anyway, a few extra minutes for the check but that was it. No other issues. Good luck!
