Do I need a photo ID for my little ones when we fly (8 & 3)? We flew last year, but were going on a cruise so we all had our passports. I don't really want to take passports with us for the kids this time if we don't need them.

What is everyone experience with this?

Thanks!!
Melanie

We've never been asked for one. I think the only time they tend to ask is if you're trying to do a lap baby w/ a child who might be 2. We always get our own seats so I don't think it's needed till they're 16?

Our kids are 9 and 10 and they don't need an ID until they are 16. Hope this helps. I know for Disney, if you are using the free admission on their birthday, they require a birth cert or other "official" documentation. Have fun!!!

I always bring a copy of their birth certificate when flying but I've never been asked for it.

If your kids are under 16, they don't need a photo ID. They will only be asked for birth certificate if they are going to be a lap child (to prove that they are under two and qualify as a lap child).
