Flying with an Infant

I flew with my little Miss Warm Bottles only. What I did was to go through security with an empty bottle and separate packets of powder. Then I got some warm water from the tap. It wasn't very warm. I put the bottle under my clothes and next to my skin. By the time we needed it, it was warm enough from my body heat.

I've used the body heat trick while camping, too. It worked very well both times.

I recently flew with my 11 month old daughter--it was a 2 hour flight as well and I was also concerned about her ears. I tried to give her a bottle at take off and landing but she wasnt into it either time--there was too much to look at. However, she did fine! I will definitely be less worried next time. We brought baby food and breastmilk with an ice pack and I didnt need to open anything for them. I did refer to the TSA website before I left though

Just a warning... to you the child looks under two.

However, if the child is NOT in thier own seat have a copy of the birth certificate. There have been some royal hissy fits thrown when the airlines refused to let infants on for "free" without them. but the hissy fits rarely work..... birth certificates do

Re heating bottles

On most aircraft the hot water comes out of the spigot on the coffee maker. Its fairly easy to heat a bottle we just put hot water in a cup and you place the bottle inside the cup. What REALLY helps us is if you bring your own large beverage cup (ie a clean starbucks cup).....you can then ask for that to be filled (its bigger than the standard airline styro coffee cup) with hot water and heat your bottle.
