Hi!
We are thinking about flying to Orlando from OKC. Has anyone flown with a small pet lately? Any tips? She would stay with us, and not go as cargo.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

You will need to make a reservation for your pet to fly with you in the cabin, as the airlines limit the number of such pets that can travel on any given flight. There also will be a charge—typically $75-100 each way—for the pet. Finally, the pet will need to be in an approved carrier that will fit under the seat in front of you.

I'm also pretty sure that traveling with a pet requires that you check in with an actual agent at the airport and to pay the pet fee at that time; but I'm not sure where that leaves you with regard to online check in if that's important (like with Southwest). It's possible that you still could check in online for yourselves (to get an A pass on SW or for some other reason) and then check in for your pet at the airport. It's also possible, however, that having a pet reservation linked to yours will lock you out of the online check-in capability.

All carriers have slightly different rules for the service, so you should check with your airline ASAP to find out more and to make arrangements.

a dog breeder who was taking a puppy to his new owner. The puppy was so good, he never made a sound. The man was concerned about how warm it was down under the seat as there wasn't alot of air circulation. He said he wasn't suppose to bring the carrier up onto his lap but we asked him if he would, my ten yr old really wanted to see the puppy. He sat the carrier on his lap for a liitle while to make sure the puppy was ok. He was so cute. He didn't open the carrier. I'm not going to lie as I was very concerned that the puppy would do a little mess and I would be stuck sitting next to the smell for quite some time. It all worked out fine though. What a good puppy!!!

You do need to check with the airline first - some may not allow animals at all, except service animals.
