I'm cheap. I admit it. I don't want to pay a car rental agency to rent a booster. ($54.00/week) We have reserved a car with a great rate for a week but taking the Disney cruise for 4 of those days).

I know that Boosters are not allowed on planes so my question is, how do I check it on the plane without worrying it'll get destroyed. I've seen how baggage handlers treat luggage so I wouldnt want to chance they'll damage it somehow (hairline cracks etc) without me knowing it. Has anyone ever done this? Did you pack it in a box and then check the box?

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I bought a car seat carrier at Babies R Us for $25 and place my booster in that. It always makes it to my destination in GREAT shape, and I don't have to worry about it getting damaged!!!

What is a carseat carrier? I looked on www.babierus.com and only came up with a carrier for infant seats that keeps infants warm in winter.

It's listed as the Eddie Bause Car Seat Travel Bag. It's $19.99 and it's GREAT!!! I'll try posting a link below, but if it doesn't work, go to car seats and then accessories, it's on the third page.

Thanks alot. I would have never found it if you hadn't provided the link.

I put mine in a black heavy duty garbage bag last time. When we checked it with Delta they took it out to see what it was and put it in one of their clear bags and taped it all up and put our tag on it. I made it both trips that way and worked out great.

This trip we are going on Southwest and they said that I need to put it in a bag that they can open and see what's inside and they do not have bags at the counter to put things in so it's all up to me.

That being said I think I might take the smaller booster that my MIL has instead of our bucket style one which is much bigger. My DD is 4 so she should be fine it it. I just have to figure out which bag to put it in so they can take a looky-see without tearing it to shreds!

I hate to spend the extra money on it because the next time we go she'll be out of a seat.
