Flying vs Driving

When deciding whether to drive or fly, I generally ask ppl first if they'll be in a car or plane. Then, the choice kind of works itself out.

PS. From Atlanta? I would drive. No-brainer. You're so close. We drive from the Midwest. When we hit Atlanta, it's usually early morning, and we'll be at WDW by that afternoon. If I was starting in Atlanta, I'd just get up in the morning and go.

Unless you are within 4 hours, FLY!!! It's just so much more convenient. It's not like you need a car on property. But I understand if you have a bigger family, flying just may not be feasible. My prayers are with you, lol, I just hating driving long distances!

Exactly, This is why we can't really see flying. We have to go north to go South, makes no sense. Same if we fly out of Columbus, we have to connect in Atlanta. Waste of time and pricey to fly straight out of here. When we had our Piper it was about three and a half hours from our hanger to Orlando Executive, but now even general aviation makes you jump through so many hoops and fuel is so pricey it's not worth it either. Not to mention being forced t pack super light!

If I can get in less than 2 hours over 19 in driving, flying wins hands down! I don't think I would ever drive, I just want to get there.

No question drive, not much of a time savings. You are saving money and adding conveniences, being on your own schedule & packing. We drive from NC for the same reasons...

After reading these responses, I've changed my opinion. I originally voted for OP to fly and my drive limit is still 5 hours but maybe that is because we are 20 minutes from the airport and 20+ hours of driving away so driving is never an option for us (we don't have the extra vacation days to waste to drive to and from). If I lived 7 hours from Orlando and was 1 hour from the nearest airport, I would probably opt to drive, especially if more than 2 people are traveling. Another factor for me is that we always rent a car and do not find DME or the Disney transportation system very convenient.
