DD7 chipped a bit off of her tooth on Saturday ( perfect timing :sad2:) I managed to get her in to see the dentist today, but she wouldn't let him do anything. she was so scared.:scared1:

She has a baby tooth at the front that won't come out and the one behind it is growing out of alignment. he said that because it hurts she isn't brushing her tooth behind it properly ( she won't let me near them ) and this is hard to do anyway as it's hidden. Her gums are inflamed as the baby tooth is rubbing.

She would not let him near her, she now has to go as an emergency to the hospital, to have a small filing to the chipped tooth, the baby tooth removed and the others cleaned and polished. I told him we were flying tomorrow and he said it should be ok until we return. :confused3

I am now really worried that she will get toothache or an infection whilst we are in Florida :sad1: and I feel like such a bad parent as my child needs a filing :guilty:

Oh Andrea don't feel bad .I hope Dd is fine for the holiday. Is there anyway as a precaution, to ask your dentist for a prescription of anti-biotics+pain relief to take with you just in case :confused3.Hope it's not too late to do this-or just make sure you take pain relief with you.I hope all is well+you have a fantastic holiday-who knows it may make her forget all about it :wizard:.x.

explain the situation to the doc, he can give you a precription for antibiotics just incase, then when you take it to the pharmasist ask for the powdered form without water, explain why you need this, he should direct you how much waterr to add if you need to use it.(all antibiotics like amoxicilyn etc are just Water added to a dry mix)
we used to do this when DS had repeated ear infections before his grommetes, if she has trouble while away then you can give her this, also buy some mouthwash and encourage her to use it , it will help with the swelling and if shes not brushing properly.

Your poor DD  and poor you  you don't need this sort of worry just before you go. Hope she'll be fine :wizard:

Explain to the dentist your fears, they can and will prescribe "emergency antibiotics" if needed.I was prescribed some as I have a wisdom tooth giving me some jip,she gave me mine to take to Florida with us,also some mouth wash..Hope everything goes ok,and dont feel bad

Don't feel bad, some things are just out of your control. I hope your daughter's teeth will be okay, with the dentist saying it was okay to wait till after the I would presume that the teeth will not cause her any problems. Baby teeth are not the same as adult teeth in their structure.
