I've never flown down to Disney (or anywhere else!) during the time a hurricane was predicted to hit. It's looking like a possibilty for next weekend. We're flying on Southwest, arriving early evening. Does anyone here have experience with this? Do you just watch and call the airlines or did they contact you about cancellations? What do the airlines do if they cancel flights...do they put you on the next day? For now, like many others I'm sure, I'm just watching, waiting and trying not to worry about it...but wondering about the details...

You will need to keep an eye on the airlines website for information. They will allow some changes. I wouldn't wait for them to call you. The earlier you can make the switch the better chance you have of getting the flight you want.

Thanks so much! I just checked on the Southwest site to see how they've handled Dennis and they had several airports that even if they didn't stop service, they did allow changes and refunds.
