We are flying down to WDW on the Sunday after Thanksgiving (AKA the busiest travel day of the year!!)

We are flying out of OHare at 7am, so I am not real concerned about crowds at that early hour- but what will MCO be like? We land at 10:30 Do you think we will have long lines at the ME counter? What about the travel time to the hotel (AKL)? I'm just trying to guestimate when we will actually arrive at the hotel so we can get the vacation started!!

Anybody do this last year with some advice for us?

Thanks!

I don't think you are going to find long lines at MCO for ME - most at MCO that day will be going home, not to WDW.

Can't help with timing - havent' used ME yet. Out first time will be 11/24 - the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Best wishes -

You should be all checked in at AKL by noon. I've taken DME to POP 3 times now..twice we have gone to AKL first, once to POP first. So, if AKL is the first stop, you should be there by 11:30ish.
I agree with Carol about the crowds being nonexistent at MCO on that day. Most will be heading home, not going to WDW...you'll see lots of sad faces, going through security....just be glad you aren't one of them!!!

`We've flown several times out of MCO on that Sunday. It has never been a problem. I don't think you will hit crazy lines on ME as most people will be leaving that day, not arriving.

Actually, the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, is the busiest travel day of the year. People tend to return at different times/days after Thanksgiving, but everyone who has to wait until the end, flies on Wednesday.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year.

I would also expect O'Hara to be VERY VERY busy at 7 AM on that day. Leave yourself extra time to travel around the airport and to go thru security. We cannot miss our flight to Mickey land :cool1: :cool1:

We are flying out on Saturday. Thank goodness we are leaving from a small local airport, so hopefully it won't be too busy. Though our flight leaves at 6:30AM and then we have a 2 hour layover in Detroit. All with a 2.5 year old and it is his first time flying. Wish us luck!! LOL
