Has anyone been to the Christmas Party alone, Im thinking about it, but worried it might be a little depressing seeing all the family cheer with no-one on your arm, I've never been to the christmas party and keep thinking it might be fun,

if you went alone, what did you do? what rides are open? is it worth the $60?
Are there any decorations you don't see during the day?

I did halloween a few years ago and had a absolute blast. If the halloween party was on while i was there, i would of already booked a ticket for it.

If you were fine going to the Halloween party alone then you will be fine at the Christmas Party. Pretty much the same thing except instead of trick or treating you can go grab hot cocoa, cider, and cookies from various spots around the park. All the rides are open, just like the Halloween party. I always go in my Mickey santa ears :) I personally think it is worth the $60 for the short lines, goodies, and festive atmosphere, but maybe that is just me. I believe all of the decorations are out during the day, however the Christmas themed lighting, fireworks, and parade you can't see any other time.

I am headed there November 18th (with my parents and brother though), but have been the last two years and always have a blast.

I have done the MVMCP alone a few time and it is very Kool to do alone. It is just like haveing your own private xmas gift to your self. The shows are amazing and the fireworks and parades are amazing. Besies I have found it tends to be a little easier to get around and experence everything.

Hey j9000,

If it makes you feel better, know that there will be other solo travelers there too, so you won't be the only one. There may even be a meetup the night you are going. I love the Xmas Party. There's not much extra, but there atmosphere and the decorations are great. The parade is always nice and free (if you forget the $60) hot chocolate is nice on those chilly December nights.

Solo travel (in general) has its limitations.

I just got back from Europe, solo. I stopped in Munich to take in Oktoberfest.... It was quite fun, although would have been much more fun with a group of friends.

thanks guys,
if decorations are up during the day, the only pluses are the parade and crowds,
my plan is to see how bad crowds/lines are and then make a decision for a party the following week.

I'm planning on doing the Christmas Party solo this year, it's my first time at Disney and I'm a Christmas nut so it's perfect timing. I'm sure you'll have a great time if you do go to it solo or not.

I'll be doing the MVMCP solo on Nov. 12....I've never done the MVMCP before, but thought, "What the heck...? Why not...."

I can't wait to walk around at my own pace, taking in the sights, taking photos, perhaps sitting down on a bench and doing some people watching - I think it will still be magical - even without my Hubby and kids.

I call this a "scouting" mission for the future! :rotfl2:

I'm going solo to MVMCP. I'm still deciding on which date since I've got 2 to choose from.

I'm looking forward to it. I like doing things solo and I won't have kids saying I'm embarrassing them when I dance or see characters. And I'll get to see the fireworks and parade which my family never wants to do.

I may end up going to the Christmas Party solo to. We are going in 4 weeks 1 day (My Mom, my cousin and me). My Mom may go with me and my cousin says she will stick around as long as she can til she gets kicked out as she puts it. I really want to get a ticket so I don't get kicked out!

I'm planning on attending the Dec 2 or 12th party. Since we are there 13 days and only have 10 tickets our last day was suppose to be Downtown Disney only. But I may get another evening in Magic Kingdom before we leave.
